I live out in the sticks, and have been playing VF for 8 or so years. I mained Shun in VF4 but have used Eileen since she joined the cast in VF5.

Eileen's Characteristics, Strengths and Weaknesses(top)
Eileen has a unique system that allows her to cancel moves, making her a character that can alter her string attacks to baffle opponents. In addition, her moves are are fairly easy to get the hang of.
However, thanks to her small stature her reach is very short, and her throw damage is the lowest of the entire cast.
In light of this, with her string attacks she is especially well-suited to close range fighting so I recommend her to anyone who likes to be tricky and overwhelm opponents with attacks.
Basic Skills(top)
Main Weapons(top)
- A standard elbow attack that many characters have. or a throw at advantage is key for nitaku, a core concept of VF.
- The fastest move (at 15f) after an elbow. Cancellable after the first strike, and on counterhit CH~ or CH~ do a lot of damage. will knock down on normal hit. Punishable on guard so use with caution.
- A jumping kick that launches on normal hit. Very punishable on guard, this is a high-risk high-reward kind of move. For a follow-up combo please refer to Iichiko's post (to be translated later- Modelah).
Circulars(top)
- A full-circular great against evaders.
- One of Eileen's most useful half-circulars. The initial hit is fast, and is immune to sabaki and reversal attempts, and can also be cancelled. On counterhit the follow up will connect. A very good move in Eileen's attacking game, and should be used often.
- Another useful half-circular that is speedy and can also be cancelled.
- A full-circular low that has it's uses but is launcher-punishable on guard, use with caution.
Throws(top)
- Eileen's most damaging throw.
- Doesn't knock down but puts the opponent in a stagger.
- Allows to circle around to the opponents' back to attack.
Other moves(top)
- A double-handed attack with good reach. Can be cancelled into a variety of moves. On normal hit, ~ deals a lot of damage. On counter you can also use CH~.
- An excellent mid that launches on normal hit, this move also crushes low attacks and is immune to sabaki and reversal attempts. On guard this leaves you at a large disadvantage but is still safe against punishment. When you think the opponent will use use this move to blow them up.

Basic Strategy(top)
Eileen strings from a fast are very good, so for starters or cancelled with into other attacks should prove to be very troublesome for opponents. Cancelling out of mid attacks like and into other moves is also great for taking the initiative.
Another great offensive tool is from a guarded ; you have a 1f advantage with and a catch throw.
is a full-circular with a good follow-up that can be cancelled. hits high-mid. hits high, high, mid; on the second hit you can cancel into other moves.
Lastly, don't forget about the basics of nitaku, and use the above moves to terrorize opponents! Good luck!
