Why no Final Tuned Options for VF5?

I was wondering why there wasn't different versions of movesets for your character, or a challenge mode in VF 5.

I play mostly as Wolf and have noticed that alot of his old moves are missing. For Ex: 66 P+G, 6 P+K, or his old pop up knee, or his old option of 63214 P+G P+G, or 33 P+G P+G, his easier clothesline 66 P etc,.

I was also wondering why they left out the challenge mode option. They had some pretty crazy challenges like perform a certain combo in half gravity or defeat an enemy that has more energy.

The only reason I think they didn't have the different versions of movesets for each character is because of the new players, but I think that there is no excuse for not adding the challenge mode.

Has anyone else noticed moves missing from there old characters from the vf4 series, and would like to have different movesets for there character (the whole Ver. a Ver b. moveset)?

Like you, I began to notice the removal of strikes and throws since Evolution. I was thinking that part 5 will have that option after reading an article on Final Tuned. Honestly, I think AM2 were in a tight schedule since the released of the Playstation 3. I just hope that they can bring back those strikes and throws if a second installment of VF5 or a new Virtua Fighter will be out.

I don't see any moves missing....they've either been replaced or redesigned, this happens with every VF.

The feature with switchable moves wasn't that good of an idea IMO, and considering Sega didn't keep it, they didn't think so either.

Alot of the moves are redesigns or have different properties, but one of the moves is completely missing from Wolf the 66 P+G, correct me if I'm wrong but I think that Wolf has had that move since VF1 and it's kind of weird to see him with out it.

Lol. I don't remember it being used.

It was a cool "finishing" move though, "Git tha fuck out!"

That jumpy catch-throw shit? I don't remember seeing it in VF1 (played it on Mame).

Wolf first got that move in VF3.
VF1 and 2 did not have any catch throws.

Dude, I hate to be anal, but we are not discussing on the fighters in this thread. We are talking about the options of using strikes and throws that have been removed from the original Virtua Fighter 4.

The idea behind the character card in VF 4 Final Tuned is that you could have a VF 4 character moveset or a VF 4 EVO moveset depending on how you had the card set up. An example other than Wolf is Akira. Take Akira's Knee for example you could have his jumping knee or his standing knee depening on how you set your card up. There is more to it anyone who is curious should look at some of the old final tuned threads. It would be really neat to have this option in VF 5!!!

I always thought that the inclusion of having moves adjustments was a bad idea. I guess SEGA also agreed and there agreement is shown in VF5.

Yes, some moves has been remove but that always been the case since VF3 (Pai is missing her DDT move as example). So, nothing new there.

As for the game adjusted option like "no recovery times" and lower gravity, etc... I always hated that idea! I always felt that it de-rates the game rather than complimented it - complimentary is something that I'd like to have.

The moves change in FT I thought added another element of strategy to the mix, see other fighting games with supers, grooves, etc.

I also miss the omission of the play style icons on the bottom, chicken, shield, fists etc,
in this regard I think they took a step back,
probably had something to do with time spent on stuff like vf.tv and commentary, stuff which imo have nothing to do with forwarding the game play whereas the ft added ideas did.

But it makes sense in VF FOUR to have a choice between different versions of VF FOUR. It doesn't really seem right, in my mind, to have all that in five. It seemed like a bonus pack to four whereas Evo just upgraded the whole thing.
