What was the 1st VF Tournament?

Hello all! Recently I have been doing research on various fighting games and their history pertaining to being hosted at tournaments. While I was looking into the various events that had Virtua Fighter as apart of their lineup, i started to wonder what exactly was the FIRST Virtua Fighter tournament that could be considered as the start of the competitive scene for the game. So far, the earliest events that I've managed to see were Tougeki Super Battle Opera and Beat Tribe tournaments, but those were from the early 2000s and only featured Virtua Fighter 4 Evo and Final Tunned. I wanted to see if any of you may have any information on the oldest/older events that may have featured VF or VF2. Any and all suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.
