1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

Today, Microsoft's Larry Hyrb aka Major Nelson announced on Twitter that Virtua Fighter 2 (and 3 other titles) are now backwards compatible on Xbox One. Like Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown before it, VF2 will use the same servers on Xbox One as it does on Xbox 360, so players on either system will be able to play against eachother. Additionally, DVR features such as screenshots, clip recording and streaming will be available when playing VF2 on Xbox One.

Never played VF2 before? Yes, damage was high in old fighting games, they were very fast paced compared to today (Generally speaking. Compare VF2 to VF5, and ST to SFIV and V).

It might be jarring at first, but VF2 is one of the greatest games ever made. Give it some time and play around with many of the characters, it's really wonderful.

I remember playing it just a bit as a kid, I think for the Sega Saturn. I think I also played a bit of fighter's MegaMix or whatever it was called, but never seriously.

I'm loving the fast pace. It's a fun game.

Great news. I've been eagerly awaiting this after Daytona got the treatment a few months back. Hopefully this gets more interest than VOOT in terms of online play - there's been tumbleweeds on those servers since it got reactivated three weeks ago.

This is a port from the Model 2 arcade version. It has none of the shonkey compromises of the subsequent Sega Saturn port. Basically, the Saturn didn't have good enough hardware to do an accurate port. One of the big wins for Sony's original PSX was a near perfect port of Tekken - for those old enough to remember such things :)

Such an incredibly pretty game, even after all these years.
