Played around with Taka in single player mode... only played one person with Taka (scrubby Lau) so I couldn't figure out a lot of stuff, but here is what I know. I'll post later if I find more stuff today.

4PPP - First two hits are guaranteed, third hit is a bodycheck, natural combo on counter it seems.

2P+K, P - Two low hitting punches, the second hit knocks down on hit, but only guaranteed on counter.

6K - Knee, launches on counter... it may launch on normal too but I couldn't confirm.

3K - Looks like Jeff's front kick... knocks down on normal hit. On counter it pops up higher and I think you can get his PPPPPP series off.

K+G, P - Belly attack into hand slap, guaranteed on counter and guarantees 4K+G after it seems.

4P+K+G - RAW-like stance but it lasts much, much longer than RAW. Taka will stand in a slouch and counter any punch thrown with a slap away. Dunno if the slap is techable or not.

P+K+G - Taka goes into a low, crouching sumo stance, and can do either P or 2K. Didn't find any other options. P knocks down on hit, and 2K induces foot crumple on counter, guaranteeing 4K+G.

2P is reaaaaally slow, much slower than anyone else's 2P, but that's to be expected. You need to have quite a lot of patience with Taka, just like in VF3...

has anyone seen any info in Japanese pages about Taka? I'm looking for some combos to use. Right now all I do is PPPPPP or 1PP, 6P+K, PP. I'm sure there are other things I can do after I launch but I can't find anything...

If this is the string I think it is, I'd like to think it's guaranteed on mc so you could use it for punishing like Jacky df+P,P,P or Eileen b+P,P,K.
I can't be sure, of course, since I've only watched vids and I'm not even sure it's the same string but you could try it out.

By the vids and what I can figure of the move list I think after most launches you can do P, f+P+K,P,P (two mids and a twohanded palm attack if that is the correct input for it). For bigger launches and lighter characters additional jab can be added.

Sorry if this is no help at all. All my info comes from watching vids with commands shown...

I've got lots of Taka info from while I was in Japan during the last location test. I played about 200 games with him and I think he's really great and definitely a strong character. Sadly, I haven't had an internet connection for the last few months so I couldn't provide any information to anyone at the time.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif ,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif ,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif ,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif ,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif ,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (hhhhhh)- 6 string punch from vf3. First 3 punches will connect on hit but opponent can duck or block starting from the 4th. Last punch is kind of a side swipe. They are all high though.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif ,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif ,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (hhm) - Last punch is the bitch slap that knocks down on regular hit (2_6p). I also think it is semi-circular. If blocked, Taka will eat guaranteed damage.

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif / /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (m/m)- Both are slow launchers that have quite a bit of distance. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif floats a bit lower but is double fisted so it can't be easily sabaki'ed, reversal'ed, etc. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif does like a side float which allows for bigger combos. Generally I saw people follow up with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif which actually does less damage than /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, but the last few punches in /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif for some reason doesn't always hit. You can get 2 punches in before the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif on light characters.

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (mhh) - same from vf4. Fast and very useful.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (mm) - If the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif hits on counter or crouch, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif will connect causing crumble which means /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif will connect which means BIG damage. If /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif hits on counter, the whole combo does over 70 damage.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif ,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (hhm) - I found this move almost useless as I could never make it connect on any floater. It's okay for a tricky finishing move I guess, but if the last body check is blocked, Taka eats guaranteed damage.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (mh) - A stand back kick into a big swing. If the kick hits, the punch will connect (even on regular hit) and cause side stagger which means a nice side throw if they don't immediately crouch attack.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (mhm) - a knee into a high punch then an uppercut like swing. The knee will float on counter which means you can get bigger damage if you G-cancel the canned follow up. On regular hit, the high punch will connect but the last uppercut will not. You can delay the last uppercut though. If the last uppercut hits on counter, it flops, which means heavy damage from a follow up heavy stomp (6k+g).

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif (m) - head ram that pushes the opponent away. On counter it gives good advantage but if you want to follow up with a throw you'll have to dash up.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (mm) - a double mid combo that connects on regular hit and knocks down on the second hit. If blocked, Taka will eat guaranteed damage.

Just to add some notes to Reno's first post, from Taka's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif stance he's got:
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (h) - a full circular that if it hits leaves the opponent side turned
/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif (l) - which crumbles on counter allowing for heavy stomp and good damage
p+k (m) - a head ram that crumbles on counter
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gifor /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif - which does a funny looking evade
(also iirc) /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif - which is the high guard break (not sure about this one)

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif (l) - a low punch kinda like Wolf's low swinging punch but not as much distance. Knocks down on regular hit.

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (m) - Taka's elbow. I think it's a bit slow and short ranged but it's enough.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif (m) - Taka's standing kick is long ranged and mid. Very, very useful for long range battle.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (mm) - Kind of a crazy looking mid combo that does not connect on regular hit (on counter, the first hit floats), and also makes Taka eat guaranteed damage on block. However, it looks crazy and you can kind of delay the second hit to fake people out.

qcf /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (m) - A big chop that knocks down. Not really sure how to use this effectively.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif (h) - a headbutt that slams. The only use this really sees is after a hcb /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif throw. After hcb throw, headbutt slam, p, then 6p+k,pp will work on all but the heavies and do @70 damage.

hcf /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif (h throw) - does 70 pts of damage. The only reason I know it isn't 65pts is because I tested it and three of them (and nothing else) wins the round.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (h) - goes into back turn and I think it is full circular. Great move against evaders because in back turn with advantage Taka is pretty sweet.

BT /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif (m) - linear unfortunately, but if it hits, it automatically goes into Taka's catch throw which means great damage.

3p, 6p+g (m - hit throw) - a slow mid that has a difficult timing hit throw on it (even on regular hit). Does good damage (maybe 55 or 60).

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gifor /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif (l?) - does kind of a side stomp. If the opponent evades in the direction of the stomp, they go into this weird stumble where they can't block and you can do a big combo on them. I've accidentally hit someone with it once but was unable to capitalize properly.

hcb /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif (hhhhm?) - don't know the level of this attack well but it's kind of like a defense wall of hand slaps. The last p+k is a mid slap that leaves the opponent side turned if it hits.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (m) - same motion as for Akira's dblplm. Taka rushes forward and double hand tackles you. Guaranteed damage on block. On regular hit, it's not much. On counter, it's HARDCORE. On MC I've seen it do what must have been 80 pts of damage. Taka also has just a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif which I think is the same thing from a standing position but probably does a bit less damage. It reminds me of Akira's body check in how the damage is funky sometimes.

I'm sure I'll recall other stuff and when I do, I'll post more.

    TAKA ROCKS!

4PPP is good because you can shift into PKG stance after 4PP. Good mixups there. 6PK, P, P also has the same kind of stance shift.

Some random item images that I found while surfing the Taka community page on mixi.

Costumes A - E for Taka. LOL @ Costume E and Taka wearing Blaze's pants.

The items look good as well as the costumes (except Cos E, I mean, it just doesn't fit Taka). The belly painting is stylish as hell, but where is the pillow supposed to be attached?

Official movelist doesnt show a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif command, although there is a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif.

Maybe they changed it to /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif? you can see it in the movelist, it says damage is dependent on distance, so that's why it sometimes does massive damage. It's at like 2:30 of this vid:

Umm... I said in my post that I got it while surfing through MIXI. Dude, seriously.

Jemun: The zabuton (it looks like a pillow but it's a Japanese style seat cushion) goes on his back.

KoD: 2_6P is a knockdown move so that's probably not what he's talking about. It's definitely 2_46P+K since I've hit that a couple of times and it does a stupid amount of damage. I still can't really wrap my head around how the damage works out but I guess Arcadia or the next mook will talk about it.

Some wall combos for Taka... dunno the exact damage but 1 and 2 sound like it hurts...

    1. 3P+K→Wall→46P→43PP→4KP
    2. 3P+K→Wall→46P→43PP→1PP→3P+Kor6K
    3. 3P+K→Wall→6P+K→63214PPPP+KorPPPPP
    4. 3P+K→Wall→P+K→P→1PP→3P+Kor6K

1 and 2 are for when the opponent splats on the wall hard, because you'll have enough time to get in the 46P. For combo one, there's a chance that the P in 4KP may miss, but you can do either K+G or 3P for a counterhit for more damage.

Combo 2 looks like it only works up until mid-weights.

Combos 3 and 4 are for non-splat wall hits where the recovery is faster.

Arcadia No. 100 (congrats!) Taka Combos
    1. 33P+K, P, 6KPP
    2. K+G, P, 4K+G - Works on everyone
    3. 63214P+G, P+K, P, 6P+KPP - against heavyweights this doesn't work, so use 4K+G instead as a followup to P+K
    4. 44P+K, 43PP, P, 3P+K - I don't even know why they printed this combo... the odds of hitting 44P+K are practically nil lol.

    More combooooooooooos

33P→6KP~P+K+G→P+K - Works on Aoi, presumably works on other females and up to Blaze, I guess? Does 85+ damage
CH P+K+G 2K→1PP→3P+K - Works up to Wolf
CH P+K+G 2K→4K+G - For Wolf and up

Note about Taka's RAW stance (4P+K+G)

Against a lot of characters, RAW doesn't seem like a good idea, especially late into a round. The RAW attack is automatic but it takes a bit longer to come out... because of that, if you get hit by, say, Lau's 6PP, you can RAW the first hit but before your auto-attack connects, Lau can hit you with the second hit of his string. Now, it doesn't interrupt Taka's auto-attack, but you still sustain the damage from it, it seems. This means that if you're planning to use it late into a match, you have to make sure you have enough energy left to absorb more than just the one attack.

Against characters like Akira or Kage, where their main elbow-based attacks (SDE for Akira and 6P for Kage) are one hit, it works well, but against a character like Lau or Jacky it's a bit riskier to use.

Got this off a fellow Taka player's blog page. These are the maximum damage combos for Taka-Arashi after his headbutt (P+K) and his catch throw into trip (f+P+G, d/f+P+G). Where it says (S) it means you have to waste one frame in order for the next attack to hit.

    Character 63214P+G-P+K 6P+G-3P+G
    Eileen 1PP-6P+KPP 1PP-6P+KPP
