    Original information

If this turns out to be true, "October" is too much waiting for having this game at home.

Can anyone have a direct way to confirm this? Because right now the rumor is only based on the dates that retailers show on their web sites.

Gamestop is usually pretty accurate when it comes to listing release dates. They have the game, Virtua Fighter 5, for the X-Box 360 at an early October release. They also have the Hori VF5 stick at a July 17th release. My rule of thumb for release dates is take whatever retailers have as the earliest possible release.

I would take a 3 month sooner release date over online play ANY day...

I wish Bill gates WOULD kick Kataoka in the balls and make him add onlineVs, lag no lag. ANd just tell him name his price. But Nah it's not happening, because that would be in a perfect world.

As it is , three month delay, rumored or not, would not be enough to implement online play. DOA Ultimate had a SIX month delay to iron out online VS, and THEy planned Online from the OUTSET. The best we'll get is online leaderboards and replay trading at BEST.

Wishful thinking is that they would use that time to give us back AI training and uploading trained AIs profiles (thats a pipedream) I mean Id take user created online AI profile trading over Online Vs, but we probally wont get either. Not when they can squeeze another $60 dollars out of us for giving basically the same game, only patched.

fuck no sega better not put this game online, it would be a slam to PS3 fans for one. the other thing is if DOA4 doesnt play as good as it does offline how the hell is VF5 suppose to play. theres no way you can recreate the same experience of playing VF5 offline to online. at this point ill take any online feature sega offers. ive had VF5 for a while now and im pretty sure theres not going to be any online content for the PS3 version.

im telling you though sega really dropped the ball with quest mode. quest mode shouldve been the beginning of online matchmaking.

It's almost certain that they will have some online functionalities, but it's almost certain they will not have online matches.

I heard about that also... I think that it's good idea to delay games arrival if teher will be more inprovements in gameplay BTW those mixed costumes (for example Cos A + Cos C) look really nice:) If VF5 for x360 will only be not late too more...

i love virtua fighter 5 and you should definently answer these questions before you buy the game. 1. do you like fighting games. 2. do you have a little patience because in my opinion VF has the deepest gameplay of any fighter and the best character balance. 3. do you have friends that play VF or are willing to learn to play? 4. does it bother you that this game wont be playable online?

those are the main questions you must ask yourself if your considering purchasing this game. another thing i know that people compare fighting games with other fighting games and rightfully so. just like people compare football games with other football games. this is so you have an idea of whats the better game. i love gaming in general. ive been playing games since i was a kid and im 29 now.

i love fighting games always have since SF2. some of you people are comparing DOA4 and VF5 in the wrong way. one game is meant to be online the other game wasnt made for online play. i know this is going to sounds mean but compared VF5, DOA4 feels cheap in every way. gameplay and graphics wise. i play DOA4 sometimes but only with my friends who dont usually play fighting games.

for my friends who dont want to waste our time on unbalanced characters and gameplay. you guessed it VF5. when i lose on VF5 i know i lost and its my fault, so i never get mad. when you lose on DOA4 it could be due to online lag, unbalanced characters, and cheesy gameplay but hey theres boobs. i know DOA4 is a decent game so DOA fans dont cry. ive been playing DOA since it was released. im just disappointed that team ninja went for graphics over gameplay. only this time VF5 beats DOA4 in graphics and gameplay.

yea DOA4 is online and i own the game but id rather play quest mode and unlock costumes then play boring ass DOA4 online. im just pissed that sega is delaying VF5 for 360 but im hoping sega is doing the right thing. think about it, dont you want VF5 for 360 to be the best it can be? if the game needs more time to add online content or to be upgraded to version c i can wait. the other thing you have to consider is this. do you want a shitty port of VF5 or an arcade perfect or at least a close to arcade port of VF5.

so i know it sucks sega delayed VF5 but i can wait as long as sega is planning to make VF5 as good as it can be on 360. id rather wait than have a shitty version of VF5 on 360. i will say this however if sega delays VF5 for 360 one more time their fucking idiots. you got get while the gettings good. oh yea by the way sega you might want to advertise this game a little. its not hard sega just explain in your ads that VF has the deepest gameplay of any 3d fighter and it has the graphics to match.

unlike DOA4 which plays and looks like it shouldve been made last gen for xbox. sorry but me and alot of my friends had high hopes for DOA4 since it was suppose to be next gen and it was delayed so long. its still not great online, its good online not great. the hair and graphics for a next gen fighter look horrible. what is this DOA ultimate with fucked up hair for the characters. so stop comparing DOA4 with VF5 when it comes to online play. yea DOA4 is online but i think it sucks compared to VF5. TNA will only get you so far.

so yea DOA4 plays online but i wouldnt want a fighting game online if the graphics and gameplay have to be compromised. i want the full experience of the game not a half ass experience like DOA4. you have to compromise graphics and gameplay to play a game like DOA4 online. why? because of lag. some of you think lags not a big deal dude. then why does a game like DOA4 not play flawlessly online? team ninja knows they have to have simple gameplay and graphics so DOA4 wont totally be fucked up when played online.

i layed it out in lamens terms for you who dont understand. so if VF5 goes online you can imagine how shit that game would play since its not built for online play. so people unless you want a shitty DOA clone stop complaining about VF not being online. DOA4 is online play that. oh wait DOA4 is simple and boring thats exactly why VF5 doesnt need to be online. i just want to apologize if i went on too long but i wanted to get my point across to people who dont understand how lag affects 3D fighters. especially when frame rate is a big part of how the game plays.

^ I thought you were saying VF5 should be online?

and what's with the DOA4 comparisons? I didn't see any(as of time of this post.)

I'm still on the fence as well tho'. I got to finally play VF5(THANX Chanchai!) and I'm pretty much leaning toward the PS3 since it's also gonna have ZOE3 and MGS4 as well this other game that looked hot(can't remember the name). So the only reason I would get a 360 is because of VF5 on the 360 being that much better.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma is gonna be another game to boost the status of the PS3, even if it is a port of an X-Box game with new features, levels, bosses, and modes. I'm also looking forward to Lair, but I'm worried that the game will be choppy much of the game. We'll see when it comes out.

That said, if you get the PS3, you get a full summer of VF5 /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif But that's coming from one of us crazy VF fans who would buy two systems for one game lol.

In all honesty, I would not be surprised if ZOE3 and MGS4 go cross-platform. But it'll be a good while before that happens. Also, did anyone catch that MGS1-3 will be ported to PSP?

Femto shutup. first of all did you read GoDokunoDans post. no offense to GoDokunoDan but i dont want VF5 online. if you read the long post i entered youd know why. the other thing is your leaning towards PS3. who cares, whats that have to do with the topic. by the way if the PS3 was failing do you really think 3 games are going to save it?

those games might not even remain exclusives. plus zoe sucks. its always been too short of a game. dude you cant even remember the third game you thought was so cool. does anyone really care about zoe except for a few people? you sound like a sony fanboy. then you totally dismiss cuz's post. yea kotaku may not always be correct but maybe sega is hoping for a july release.

do you work for sega Femto? release dates change all the time i wouldnt be surprised if VF5 for 360 came out before or after october. so stop harping on the posts. no one really cares if your leaning towards sony. i personally like all the consoles for the different things they can offer.

Question: What is the story with Kotaku? I'm not familiar with the site -- do they blatantly pull stuff out of their collective asses? Have they proven themselves to be untrustworthy in the past? Just curious..
