VF5 PS3 "The Best" aka Greatest Hits

Hi guys.

While browsing Play-Asia's game catalog, I've encountered with the following game:

Virtua Fighter 5 (Best Version)
Coming on Dec 11, 2008, costs 34$.

(the link might bring you to Play-Asia's homepage, just search Virtua fighter 5 in it and your will see the title).

No other site has any information about it, and Play - Asia only copy-pasted the original VF5 data on it.

Now, first I thought its just a platinum / greatest-hits version, but then again - it costs 10$ more than the "Normal" version. Its not a collectors edition for sure, for the game is out in the market for almost 2 years.

Are we seeing Ver C / D coming to the PS3, or will it be just a tweaky remade version of B for the 15th Anniversary ? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif

 

If it's version D, I'm gonna get it. Hell, even if it's version C, I'll prolly buy it too. Need to support the VF scene.

 

If it is the "best version" they should bring it to the US with online play so the PS3 owners will stop complaining. At least until the inevitable VF5R port anyway.

 

sorry to be the bearer of bad news but best version is just japan's version of like greatest hits here in the u.s. meaning its just a budget version of ps3 vf5 ver. b with a different cover.

if you look at the pricing for every ps3 best version game, they usually start at that price.

 

The regular version is just heavily discounted at this point. The Best version of it is coming out at a higher price point, is all.

 

No. The idea of greatest hits or best version was to release a high selling game with a new cover (with the greatest hits slogan) at a discount to encourage people who passed on it the first time to pick up a new copy of the game. The idea is also to compete with game retailers that sell used games, as game companies are now losing significant amounts of money in the used games market.

I'm pretty sure 001 already knows what the PS3 "the best collection" means. They are all released at around 3800 yen; if you look on play-asia's web site, all the other PS3 best games are 34.90 Its just kind of stupid that the original version of the game is already discounted so far that the best version is kind of pointless.

Yeah, it may be a reprint (most likely) but we can still speculate!
