VF5 - Not being sold in US or UK?

Sorry to bother you guys, but we are running a feature on the news that Sega America and Europe amusement operations have confirmed in an interview that they "have no plans for the present to bring VF5 to their markets."

Though ground breaking news - other sources suggest that Sega may not be selling to operators in AMerica or Europe, but still may want to operate the machine themselves. The issues of needing ALL.NET support and needed four cab configuration factored into this move to self operate.

I also read your reporting of the ALL.NET project coming to America, but as you guessed this is not for VF.net or VT.net, but for a sports shooting game project.

We are interested in your views - Thank you for your comments,

Our feature comments that Namco said nearly the same regarding not making a arcade version of Soul Calibur 3!

I don't want to be rude (unfortunately I might have to be), but I've seen you spam at least two boards with 'industry news' in some kind of attempt to promote your pay site, which is essentially a collection of industry rumors.

I respect your enthusiasm and persistance, and I don't want to insult you personally, but I don't think you'll have any better luck here than you had at mmc. Hit or miss rumors are not something that people are generally willing to pay for.

You do have a problem don't you - well, lets leave it to the readers here to make their own minds up for themselves, rather than your comments.

    1. I am not spamming when I am in fact asking for opinions
    2. We (the Stinger) always state a rumor when run one
    3. I actually work in the industry with a regular feature... you?

But finally, I do take it a bit ruff, when first you state these are industry rumors and then claim they are hit or miss - one thing or the other. I know you guys were a bit surpirsed when you first claimed all of the stuff we had was BS, and then had to quickly revert to 'oh all that stuff is on the web' - but when I asked for proof and no one reply!, (oh and by the way I am still at MMC and SNK_Cap and all the others, so ease back on those claims).

Lets just keep it this way, you claim your BS, and I will carry on doing what we do. Also be careful what you claim is spamming!

If it came across that way, it was not intended - it was that just last time I had this chat lots of claims were made by the guys on the forum who then vanished when they found out I do actually write for the trade.

But lets be honest, The Stinger is a trade subscription document, and as it has been said before fans don't like to pay for their coverage, so this is not a readership drive!

I don't care who you work for, where you work, etc. Your elitism means absolutely nothing to me.

In my personal opinion (ie. I'm not speaking for the board, but for myself), I believe pawning off unsubstantiated rumors (or even just spreading them) is quite annoying. It builds needless hype. Are you trying to tell me that your numerous posts on boards that I frequent are actually contributing any meaningful discussion? That your 'claims' are something that we should attribute any value to? Clarification: They aren't.

I apologize for being harsh, but I'm doing it as a service to this board. I've had mixed experiences in the past relating to your 'news' posts, and as there are many people on these boards that I care about, I'd like them, and others, to know about these experiences.

I'm sure with your rabid subscription base, I'm just one drop in the complaint bucket anyhow.

Well, if it's not coming to UK then I don't know why Sega Europe were showing video of the VF5 running demo at Preview UK, last year. I guess the decision to release it officially may still be up in the air, but...

To all those that sent Private Messages - Thank you.

It's clear that "Personal Opinion", and "Rash Comments" have been used to hide a simple fact of, I personally am not 'Elitist' in particular regarding how hard I have had to work to get anywhere in this sector - I have explained too many times that the reason to classify my background was to address certain forum members sudden claims of 'hidden knowledge' only to vanish when asked to prove themselves - and the constant avoidance of this reason seems to prove my point.

[already we see people claiming they already knew the VF5 UK sales news, as it rush's across the forums as others 'hot news', which explains some of the strong opinion]

Claimed 'defence' of the forums morals is elitist in its own right, thinking you know better than other members with the ability to voice their own opinion - as they have. So to the end - the proof is in what SAE announces at the Distributor Meet (also the AOU international release schedule), when they preview AterBurner Climax (XSD)... though I am sure you will have vanished by then!

KTallguy, I've seen his posts trying to recruit readers to his pay site and they annoy me too. Bleh.

I haven't been able to make it to the location test yet, but will probably go tomorrow. I'll post some of my newbie impressions up then.
