I just played it and now I know I won't need to buy a stick. I have the PS3 version and I hate using the dpad.

With the 360's analogue stick I can put in all my inputs properly. GG.

My impressions comparing the VF5 demo to VF4: Evo on the Ps2, (I've not played VF5 on arcade or PS3):

    - HD graphics and widescreen is great. Very crisp, nice animations and flow, Sarah is VERY TALL in widescreen!

    - Loading times were a little long I felt. Loading screen was mostly green for "xbox" type graphical flavour.

    - Nice music for Fei's arcade stage in the snow.

    - Some slight clipping issues parituclarly on /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, eg with maybe an arm going through a chest, that kind of thing. Doesn't always happen, and doesn't bother me, but it's there.

    - I concur that the 360 pad is quite good. The left stick is better than I expected, so good I'm regretting ordering the EX2 stick for the game now (because it seems an extra unecessary expense!)

    - Nice touch that with RB you can play arcade mode on the right hand side.

    - Nice touch that the command menu is split into pages for normal attacks, throws, etc And directional arrows DO switch depending on the side your stand.

    - If you have 2 controllers you can kind of "train" in versus mode. But it is obviously time limited.

    - Versus mode has American play-by-play commentary. It's a nice idea, it's just a shame it doesn't transition well, it's sometimes behind the play, and annoyingly the commentators talk over the ring announcer - but its an interesting concept.

    - Not played with Eileen or El Blaze yet, I don't want to spoil it for the full game, I like to keep some stuff back and was instead practising with Akira & Sarah.

Are there any items to try out customization?

Hopefully Sega gets a demo out on the PSN store.

this will def. help our vf community grow. I hope vf becomes as popular as it was during vf2.

No item cust. Just arcade mode and vs. And arcade mode only lets you play through 3 opponents before kicking you back to the main menu. You fight El Blaze, Lei Fei, and Jeffrey in that order.

Btw I'm using the DOA4 stick and the thing works really well. It's no VSHG, but it's good enough. The stick is a tad bit stiffer, but it's easy to adjust to it.

    my 2 cents:

It definitely looks better than ps3 version to me. Load time feels about the same to be honest. I want to say it's a tad bit longer, but to be honest I never really paid attention to the ps3's load time that much. I bet if it did use the HDD like the ps3 version im sure load time would be zero or next to nothing. Like I said it seems to load about same as far as I can see. For everyone worried about control issue, well I can confirm that my DOA4 stick is here to stay. I had no problems moving around or inputting moves. Combos ver a breeze to do and throw escaping seemed fine. I was completely sold when I noticed I was able to do akira's knee kick with a much higher percentage rate than I can on ps3. I will test this further to make sure, but on ps3 version I definitely had problems pulling off akira's knee kick consistantly, while on the 360 version I seemed to get it almost every time I attempted it. I tried a few games with both akira and blaze and when I get home from work tonight I will try a few more games and test a few more things. Overall I am pretty psyched up so far. A lot of people dog DOA's online play, but on a good connection the game plays actually quite well. If VF5 on a good connection can produced that same type online play like DOA on a good connection I will be so *#(^-ing happy. I'll probably loose my social life again, cause i'll be online way to much.

im afraid that its because the game its on your HD (downloaded demo), i've heard reports that the loading is HORRIBLE. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Yo, this is DancingFighterG. Question, what do you use to move on the Xbox controller? I'm assuming that you use the anlong stick on the left or do you use the dpad?

if you read my post you would noticed the answer to your question is there. I use the DOA4 stick. I'm old school bro, i don't use control pads for fighters, simply because I can't. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif I don't have the great finger dexterity like the new genereation of gamers. My thumbs are from the prehistoric age.

I use the analogue stick in DoA4 I have never used the 360 D-Pad. So I'm already used to never missing my inputs because I already use that one so much.

I have 2 years of practice with the 360 analogue stick through DoA4. So I don't really mess up on it, lol. Though I'm not saying it's better than an arcade stick.

The really sad thing here is there is a VF5 demo on PS3. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif

It has been out for months but it was never released at the PSN store. I have only seen the demo run on kiosks at electronic/game stores.

I've watched people play the demo at a couple of Gamestop stores and at a Best Buy and they enjoy it. Why Sony/Sega doesn't have it ready for download for PS3 owners baffles my mind. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif

Yo, this is DancingFighterG. EscapingJail, That's what I worried about. I play pad in VF on the ps3 and with a analog stick compared to a d-pad this should be interesting. Don't really mess with the xbox to much. I wonder if it's going to be easier to shake staggers though?

Konjou_Akira: LOL!! I feel you man. represent the stick!!
