All Vf4 players in Ga. lets use this thread to get to know each other, and hopefully meet up and start playing each other.

As for me, I used to play down at Underground Atlanta, but I haven't played there all summer. Now that school is starting back I'll be back at GSU and hopefully I can find some comp. at Underground Atlanta.

I don't really play VF4 in the Arcade, but i'd like to. I play all the tiime at home with my Hori stick so going from console to arcade shouldn't be to drastic (control wise anyway.) I would play at Underground but 1. I've never been there, and 2. It's a good long drive. And as for Dave & Buster's...way too expensive. Hopefully WE'll get an EVo machine pretty soon cause i'd really like to start playing in the arcades starting with that.

Hey players in GA. We have a small group of dedicated players in East Tennessee, it's only a few hours drive away. It would be nice if we can get people around the mid atlantic for some events. I want to know how big of a following do we have in the region, hopefully we will have enough players interested for a big gathering! /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

Yea, I've only been playing at home on ps2 during the summer. I plan on getting a ps2 stick sometime pretty soon. For now I borrowed the shadowblade stick from a friend so I could get used to playing VF on a stick again. (I wish I could use my DC Arcade stick on the ps2!) I also know a few people who play, but we just don't get to meet up and play very often.

So Enishi what part of GA are you in? Im on the east side of atlanta in Lithonia, but I go to school and work downtown at GSU and GaTech, respectively.

I hope we get an EVO machine too. I'm amazed that they actually got VF4 at Underground when they did.

Ok. I know a guy who runs all big console tournaments, and biweekly arcade tournaments (Final Round 4, Final Round 5) in capcom and namco games. Earlier in the year I asked him if he would add VF4 to the list of games and he said If I could find some VF players, he would add it.

Well I live in Marietta, which is NW of Atlanta. I'm about 45 minutes to an hour away from Atl , but if we could get somethin goin i wouldn't mind headin over there. And as for a console tournament, sounds good. This way I could use my custom charas.

Thats strange. I replied to this message a few days ago but my reply didn't show up.

Anyway, yea it would be cool to play on the ps2. What level are your characters, and who do you play with?
my main character is Sarah, who is like 5th dan. and I'm working on Pai (2nd or 3rd Dan), Aoi (1st dan), and Vanessa (1st dan)

Well, I play Akira (Emperor) mainly, but I also play a little Kage (Vanquisher), and sometimes even Lion (5th Dan).

Nice. Thats a lot of playing to get them all up to that level. Oh yea, how do you like that Hori stick you have? I was planning to get either that or the cvs2 stick for ps2. For now I'll have to keep using this shadowblade that I borrowed from a friend, until I save up the cash to buy my own ps2 stick. man I wish I could just use my DC arcade stick on ps2.

I love the Hori stick. It's godly. I've had it as long as i've had VF4 and it still works perfectly. The stick it self takes a little gettin used to if you're not used to JP style sticks (but i'm assumin you are as you had a DCstick...). The buttons also don't stick (unlike a certain shadowblade stick....) I 'd highly recommend it or any other Hori stick. As for the CvS stick... can't say i know much of it. I'm sure that -still- ongoing stick topic has a few things to say about it. I'm thinkin of picking one of them up since i've heard good things about it and I've been playing CvS2 quite a bit lately and it'll work for GGX(X), VF4 (for 2p games), and Tekken 4 so thats a plus.

I'll be in Albany, GA aka. Sucktown USA for a few months. From what I've read, most of the folks play in Atlanta. Anybody in the dirty south?

/versus/images/icons/grin.gif Ok bet I'm in Stone Mountain. I'm not a big Arcade player, for a matter of fact I know that I can't play VF on Arcade for shit. But I would love to play some new comp on the PS2. I have a few friends that can play VF also. So I'm up for anything.

Let all come up with a time and gathering place and a couple of people here in TN will drive down and join you guys. If no one is willing to host maybe we can all meet at the underground arcade, I heard they've got an EVO machine now. Hope you hear from you guys and get something started. /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

I believe both Dave and Buster's and Underground arcade have EVO machines now. I'll be at Dave and Buster's tomorrow if any ATL people want to meet me and couple of my VF friends. (Unless my friends who are under 21 can't get in D&B's then we'll head to underground arcade)

Awesome. Give us a full report as to where they have Evo if they have it. Wherever it is, I'll try to get there ASAP.

Ok guys, I went to both dave and buster's and underground today. They both have the game. My friends and I went to D&B's first, but what happened was that some of my friends are not over 21 so they couldn't get in, so we didn't play there. The doormans were being complete pricks, because they wouldn't let them in even with someone over 25 since we argued with them for a bit because all we wanted to do was play some evo and not cause trouble at the bar. I didn't want to ditch my friends so we head to the underground instead. They had 1 evo machine in a corner and the sticks are REALLY loose. I had some problems at first because I had to manually reset the stick to the neutral position, since if i don't it'll bounce up and down. This really sucks for side stepping since you will evade but the stick will bounce back and you will step back to where you started. I tried lion, wolf, jacky, and goh. I didn't get a chance to play brad since i wasn't comfortable with trying to win and keep my win streak with someone i have no experience with. There was about 4-5 other guys playing the game besides my friends and I. We had some pretty good play with me getting over 20 win streak with lion. I played Goh for a bit and when I figured out what I was doing with him I had another 20+ win streak with Goh. He is definitely fun to play with since I'm primarily a wolf player. The competition at least for me was not as high as expected, and I had to play differently to adjust to the one or two players who didn't use the guard button. I never got a chance to practice and figure out the moves, I basically tried different things by getting 2 rounds up on the opponent and give away a round where I tried stuff out. It was a fun time overall, the machine they had was the japanese version, because the letters on the top of the screen were in japanese and the no card symbols were in the bottom corners of the screen. I'll definitely play there again, and maybe I'll go to D&B's when I'm not with any other underage people. Hopefully getting the evo machines will revive the atlanta VF4 scene, they certainly had some good tekken 4 and soul calibur 2 players, so let's now see some good VF4 players! /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif
