ah...my quarter final games is terrible, frozen up too many times. however i have no complaints for the lack of confidence, since Akairyu killed me with style, only i got to blame for. i must practice harder for the next gathering.

It's very strange actually seeing myself play, I've never seen myself play before. I usually download other people's matches.

Some good matches and great commentating from Hatim.

BTW: shouldn't Dan (Rayne) have 5 points?

**1st Dan +4 points +1 bonus for qualifying

your style of play with pai is fine, if anything your "back-dashing" is what gives you an advantage as you control your "spacing" as you hold the advantage they get up, if you know what i mean.

most people try and throw quick down attacks, where you dont, which was good on most of the occation, but some times i feeel you should of hit them with a down punch then back dash.

but who cares u brucked peeps.

but she does hav 3 low throws (we ones and exchange) that could be abused!

that's a good point, Dan should of got 5 points.
however, he is in a bigger group than 1 and 2, played an extra game.
how do you work this out?

G-Ho, your playing style is very strong, back-dashing is hell annoying but works brilliant, dragging your opponent to frustration (ask Optimus) because they are force to play your game, trying to keep a rhythm of attacks while you keep backing off is a good tactic to break your opponent's mindset. IMO, you need to mix your striking options more, i've notice your pattern of attacks and grabs since i've played you alot in troc (still get beaten most of the time though), try mixing differently and i'll be truly f**ked.

G-ho, from what I noticed, you play alot on the fact that Pai has alot of moves that people don't really understand and don't know the exact frames of, as well as an agressive reverse nitaku game. I notice that you don't use as many defensive techniques as some other players (BK, or Ollie for example), so sometimes you take a big risk when at a disadvantage by choosing to 'out guess' the opponent, instead of covering yourself with the 'correct' defensive technique (or one of).

Obviously I can't criticise as you whooped my ass, but these are the 'problems' I noticed with your game.

    Hope it helps.....

flowcharts = good, but use her lifting palms launcher more when you have higher advantage. on normal hit you still get advantage to play another choice game.

oki = good, again - rising palms or instant ff+k+g is strong here when opp tech rolls.

    Mix-ups = good

Combos = decent, but i think you are missing some of the better ones. PM remi (archangel) as he practices these.

Throw escapes = didnt see any.

patience = not bad, you eat heavy attacks MC if you attack too often at disadvatage.

dunno how, but u've managed to learn pai pretty well, pretty fast.

i always fear pai because she's very strong over the characters i use 0__0, nomatter how much i learn her.

ur right about my combos. i struggle with her rising palm launchers as i never seem to get a float, i know how to do her most damaging combos but when i do get a float i think im shocked its even happened and tend to stick to [P],[P],[P], [2]+[K].

Hey Ollie, was doing quite well in the early stages. Cant wait to come back and give ya some. Good offensive play, I kinda froze up. Is Jide gonna be sticking with VF, he mentioned he might not.

Shaun, the passage in bold you wrote is the very essence of reverse nitaku. It boils down to guesing your opponent will try to throw you and using a big move back at them as opposed to using defensive options.

Nitaku is the "2 choice" ("forced choice tactics") situation. Basically it happens when defense is down by about 5 or 6 frames and all the defending player can do is stop a throw with a strike or a strike with a guard. Its a 50-50 mind game essentially. Reverse nitaku is the opposite in the sense that you're gambling on going for a big move against a throw attempt, eg yoho for Akira.

Well annoying atm, haven't been able to view these matches yet as I don't have the right stuff installed in my office comp (and can't install stuff myself) so I'm trying to track down a mate with a laptop to view them!

reverse nitaku is *more* about using a small move to gain back advantage.

by using a bigger move, you give your opponent bigger moves to beat you down harder with. what Ev2 is saying, is that Geeho needs to understand his situation better. rather than resulting to reactive attacking.

Geeho normally attacks after techroll, and here has major disadvantage, so it's very dangerous. the best thing to do is to have your best coverage options solidifyed, and your RN options secondly.

btw, people who use yoho after they have a move blocked normally use ARE yoho ^^).

Precisely. Using a huge move like Yoho when you are down by 4-6 frames is almost stupid, unless you know that you opponent is going to throw (Say, if they have tried to throw in the same situation 5 times in a row). You are just inviting your opponent to use their 'Yoho' on you, and get a major counter hit.
Using the small hit like BK mentioned is more sensible, and is more likely to pay off.
