U.S. Open, Federer overwhelming?

I'm sorry that I managed to post this so much after the U.S. Open. But I'm pretty eager tennis watched nowadays and I watched the matches. Jarkko Nieminen lost against Lleyton Hewitt and then Hewitt lost against the greatest, Roger Federer. Then Federer won the final against Agassi. So my question is the following: Do you consider Federer unbeatable? Is he just too good and did he win the tournament easily? I mean Hewitt didn't stand a chance against him and Agassi had to agree with the matter that Federer is better than he.

hahahah, Nadal is still too spotty with his game and as with most tennis players right now, good serve, not so great ground game or net game. Federer has it all and many are already calling him the greatest of all time which might not be an exaggeration, he has been dominating in tournament play for a while now. Someone has to touch him before you can say he's catching him up, fact of the matter is he has raped everyone from 2 on down so we'll just have to see how other people go with their time.

Not to take anything away from Federer, but I've noticed a few good players produce a lot of unforced errors on otherwise easy shots. Because he's such a good player, they often force themselves to go the extra mile to produce a great shot instead of a high-percentage one. The fear that if their shots aren't great, then Federer will eat them alive, is quite apparent at times (to me anyway), and results them in trying to play his game. This is usually the start of the downward spiral.

So I think a lot of the hype and reputation that surrounds Federer (which is deserved, I might add) helps to intimidate his opponents. If they can't win the mental game, then their chances at winning the physical game are extremely low.

This conclusion, while it is cliched, just rang true for me after watching Hewitt lose to Federer in the US Open.

myke: that's just the way of it, it's the same thing that happens when an american faces a high ranking, name known japanese player for the first time for the most part, they try too hard and lose, but then again, does that mean that the japanese person is any less good, no, just people psyche themselves out is all, Federer makes mistakes just like a human, he just plays a better game than the rest.

Well, there were really unforced errors a lot. suprisingly lot. But mainly women did them, especially Maria Shaparapova played bad game against Kim Cjisters. I, personally, find Federer really the best player. His game is just wonderful and the style he plays makes me hold my breath. He makes other players run like hell and makes minimum amount of errors. And yes, he is a human, too, and to err is human.

well lets hope safin rediscovers his form that won him the aussie open this year. Nadal im sure in time will become more complete. Hes only 19 with one slam already so cant be all bad.
