1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

Yay! Finally had time to play some VF! /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

While playing with my messed up stick (fixing it soon), I found my character spontanously going into slow motion... I thought that I had finally reached "the level" lol. I was like hell yeah Ima freekin prodigy, seein' things in slow motion like this. Apparently, my stick selected one of the slow motion phases really fast when I was not looking, while I was at the start menu...and I realised I still sucked.

I can see the use of these options, perhaps to REALLY see frame adv./dis in techniques instead of just studying the charts, I guess such as testing moves to see if it truly is guaranteed/favorable in adv situations or something...

Anyway, how many people out there train in slow motion for any reason? Useful? Useless?

    Thanks

    N

EDIT: FYI, its under speed settings in the "start" menu during the training session.

I've tried it a little, mainly to work out what I need to hit for combos, working on the DLC, SPoD, YouHou, P, shrm, dbplm, etc. For a newb, such as myself, it's helped me get the button's down, so I know where I have to go, and what I have to push. Biggest problem I had with it is after you do it, the game seems to run SUPER fast, to the point where it's hard to play.

Edit: Nevermind, I believe it to be a stupid question.

It was quite usefull if you turned on "show motion info" or something. But now you have frames listed for all characters so it useless.

The slow motion can be quite useful if you need to get the timing down on a move. I know that sounds contradictory, because you are operating out of time, but the fact of the matter is that it helped me work out the kinks in my dragon lance. Funny thing was, I was doing it too fast, not the opposite. It's also useful for noob players who get frustrated with a particular combo/flowchart from the tactics advice. It gives them a chance to perform it, even if in slow-mo, and a little bit of hope that they can perform it in real time. Sometimes, a little bit of confidence can be just as important in VF (or in learning to be good at VF) as having sick skills.
