I'm sure this has been on some people's minds and I'm curious to see who everyone comes up with. A similar thread could be started for other countries as well.

Here's my two cents worth in no particular order, and if someone got left out, my sincere apologies. Maybe this thread will spur on greater play, or even just more frequent play from everyone would be a bonus.

Black Bauer CTU
Konjou Akira
ETPharoah
Chief Flash
JunoSynth / Texas Lion
BBoyDubC
DaBadSeed
Shinn Akira
Plague
Adam Yuki
Dre Fei (almost forgot about you - haven't seen you in awhile)

Sorry that's more than 10. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif

Again if there are some people I left out that should be in the list, my apologies, but I wanted to limit it to 10. Furthermore I may have thought some people are from other countries.

Also I did leave out MasaRed and Fu_unji_ONeal since they are Japanese. No one better say this is discrimination because IT'S NOT meant to be! I just wanted to mention the American players. We all know the Japanese would most likely beat the crap out of us anyway. And MasaRed and Fu_unji_ONeal are definitely top tier!

LA Akira you definitely deserve to be on the list but I've never played you and I'm pretty sure you don't play online much anyway. Props though for being one of the best I'm sure.

I also didn't nominate myself since I'm not looking for glory on my own post. Speaking of glory, he should deserve recognition also even though I haven't played him a lot. I think your GT is Glory83 correct?

In closing this is merely my interpretation of what I've seen so far. There are so many other promising players who have been showing either great potential or great improvement.

Congratulations on everyone for making VF5 Live awesome!

This thread should definitely read top USA players that play online. Only those that travel to play this game has the credentials to rate players in America in general. I can name about 4 players who don't often play online that are better then most of the people that are on this list. Anyway with that said, heres my opinion on whose the best ONLINE American players.

1.Adam Yuki, Plays a hard as nails Jeff that doesn't hesitate to punish and when you think you're winning that Knee will take over half your life

2.Konjou Akria, Too much been said about him as it is no need to say nothing

3.Juno/Tx lion, He is always on the attack which can make things tricky its very difficult to throw him. Hes one of those players that has a very strong offense to make up for his lack of defense.

4.Glory85- Unlike most of the new players I see on live hes actually improves and learns from mistakes, which means he actually has potential and room to grow

5.Chief Flash- Read Konjou description

6.None Other /masa red- I say both are you are about a tie, I dunno to me you guys both share the same tactics. To be honest I feel you guys do more running away and drinking then you do the fighting but hey anything that gets the job done right?

7.Gentlemen thief- When you first started you wasn't a good player at all but now your goh has become fearsome. Very good Defense you improved alot

8.Geewaiho- Much like juno I say your advance offense makes up for your poor defense, but you are equipped with some pretty nice setups and tricks that can make anyone fear you when you are in the grove.

9.Shinn Akira- Prob the best brad online now since SH isn't around and it will only get better. I say the main thing you should do is get to know the other characters well like shun so you will know how to deal with them.

10.Jhow77, Trick ass shun..nuff said its a breath of fresh air

just remembered geewaiho isn't from the USA..oh well/ Also my description for Juno and Tx lion is pretty much the same thing.

Honestly I don't know if I am cut out to be on your list. But thank you for definitely giving me props. I have been struggling lately believe it or not. The good thing about my struggle is I know what it is and understand it fully well. The problem is I can't seem to find a solution to over come it.

With that said here is my pick for top 10 in no particular order.

Shinn Akira - This guy has definitely stepped up his game and has proven he understands the VF dance.

Geewaiho - This guy is very strong, but unfortunately due to our connection it's impossible at the moment for me to really gauge how good of a player he really is. None the less I think he deserves to be on the list because he has definitely up his game in the last few months.

Jhow77 - What can I say? A true gamer at heart and VF veteran. Read my blog if you want to know more about Jhow77.

BlackBauerCTU(Denkai) - This guy came around during the VF4:FT period and has grown tons since then. When the PS3 version of VF5 was due to come out, he approached me and said he would like my help to be strong. Well I am not saying I am 100% responsible for his growth, but it definitely feels good knowing that he was able to achieve his goal and that I was a helping hand.

AdamYUKI - Not much to say about Adam other than be prepared to get RAPED! If your looking for a tough competitor he is the man you should seek.

Dabadseed - Always growing... that's all I can say. Keep up the good work seed!

Junosynth - Jhow you counted these guys as one person, but they are not. Exceptional Lei Fei! I strongly recommend fighting this guy when ever you can.

ETPharoah - I got lucky in the recent Round Robin tourney fighting this guy. When he is on, he doesn't make many mistakes. If you like to be kept on your toes, then Sam is the man for that.

Texas Lion - His style is completely different from ETPhoroah and he keeps your guessing in his own special way. Always great games.

Chief Flash - Now this guy I want to take full credit for! Not to toot my own horn, but just because I am really proud at the level he achieved and how quickly he did it. If I was Japanese I would just bow to him and congratulate him on a job well done. Just like Dabadseed this guy's knowledge is always growing.

For anyone that I have left out my deepest apologies, but I am basing this on people I have been playing recently. I am sure my overall list and feelings with change after the Socal gathering. I am really looking forward to playing against people like LA Akira to see how I fair off against his Shun compared to Jhow, MasaRED, etc.

yea I guess I should alter my list since Geewaiho is not US. But I am to lazy, maybe after the Socal gathering I can generate a new list. Until then I hope everyone enjoys the peeps that I recommend. These guys are great players and I think everyone should try to get some games in with them. Just don't go spamming their online mail box with invites because this thread says there the ones you should seek for competition. It's kind of rude and these guys are people and not machines.

I was thinking of adding jerky to the list..but that would be my offline experience with him and thats for another list entirely. I don't play him much online so I didn't mention him or many others

I agree with both statements above. I can't change the subject name can I?

As for qualified travelers I can only speak from experience with VF3 and a little VF4. Boyd (Air Jacky) and I were definitely top tier in the US and could easily hold our own in Japan during the VF3TB days. We played many of the best and did better than we thought we would.

I remember playing the UK fellow Ryan Heart while we were in Shinjuku who seemed to be annoyed that we were even there. I hope we didn't take him out of the spotlight. =P

The last time I was in Japan was two and a half years ago which I'm long overdue for going back. VF5 wasn't out yet and I only played very little Final Tuned so I got my ass kicked. I'm probably going back this summer so I can't wait to try out everything I've learned since.

There ain't no top ten but the Illest dudes i see that could make major waves on and off line in the USA.

ExtremistCIDKID - He's the Mess Me and DabadSeed created

Dabadseed - Beside still growing lol! Been there with me from jump since 94 KOF and anything before that.He Stay Repping Like a Nuclear Weapon.

Denkai_84 - Uses jacky according to him and not someone else. His style is unmatched hands down. It may look simple but ain't nothing sweet about his game period (I still think you gave my Xbox a VD lol!)

Chief Flash - I only had one seesion with this man and from that point on i never had to go to church to get saved or baptised. He did it for me.

Konjou Akira - Don't know him but he seemed awkward towards me one little session we had while he was using brad.I though i felt he tried to play me at one point i did'nt even get into with him cause it was minor.I did'nt want brad i wanted his name sake but never got that chance. Still his Akira is a step above the rest. Does'nt fight in the same pattern as all other akira's and that goes a long way with me.

Gl0ry85 - Even though i know he can't stand me. He's good student of the game. I have him on my friendslist since he was learning. He came back stronger than ever. As long as you take every game personal it will hold you back. I tell you all the time have fun a take everything as a learning experience win or lose.

JHow77 - I never played him but me and Seed converse on the reg and if Seed tell me you got some shit i believe you got some shit for a motherfucker.

Damn Sorry this shit is all wrong. Im not in any position to place people.
Jerky i give you your props if no one recognizes. I watch Vids and see you reps lovely so.
I haven't played you so i can't Gauge anything.
So i guessit just turning into "What Overfiend thinks of certain players"
AS of now i'm content with being "That Dude that Works Nuccas out on the Low"
Ya'll keep the fame. you have to live up to it everytime out and im gettin too old to want to uphold that anymore (Streetfighter 2 left me Broken in playland cause of this.)

I really like seeing players evaluate themselves in a non-egotistical way. I know there are some of you sneering in the background that this type of thing is wrong, but how else do you spark improvement and rivalries? (FRIENDLY ONES)

The only thing keeping my VF5 Jacky afloat is my experience in the game. That's it. I have many character holes in VF5 and my game count is low compared to others because of my move to Texas and lack of dedication. I am back however and am looking forward to improving with you all. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Same thing with me jerky. I hit master and quit. There really nothing to learn here for me. Only think i could care less if i get better or not. I still hold weight off GP. Being the fact the game is user friend it kinda killed the fire for me.

A non-egotistical way was the absolute intention of this post. Ultimately I hope it will spur on more players to play more. And Jerky we need to play more. I think I've only played you once or twice and it was a long time ago. I might be on tonight late and definitely tomorrow on and off throughout the day.

A shout out to off-liners (that would dominate online if they played more/at all):
LA Akira
PhoenixDth
GoatCheeseBlues

I've had the pleasure of playing these fellows offline and they deserve a shout in any Top US players discussion. As far as the online list goes, it seems like Denkai, Konjou, Adam, Chief Flash, Jhow and Happy Friend have distinguished themselves from the pack. They are a class above. Hope to play more with you all if/when my 360 ever returns from good ole' 360 repairville. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Hehe, I appreciate the sugar-coating but luck was not how you beat me. You crushed me, straight up. Admittedly, I was playing atrociously that night but it was your skill that did me in ultimately. Omaha Jeffry squished himself a mantis.

Anyways... Top 10? Too hard to sort through that one.

Jesse and Rodney would definitely be on there but there are so many other good players that delegating the other 8 would be tough.
