Tiering Characters

Has there been any tiering posts before? If there was, then I didn't see it because I was too lazy to go through all the pages /versus/images/icons/smile.gif. Anyway, I believe that if used right, Akira would be #1, however his degree of difficulty would slide him down dramatically. Then again, he gives damage to an opponent like people give pennies to the Salvation Army. Insane! Lion is very easy to use, but because of this, he may be easy to predict. He's very quick with his moves and his juggles are impressive, but he lacks the strength to finish an opponent quickly. Aoi is an amazing bitch with her counters, but can be manipulated to lose control of the match. I'd say she be placed lower in the tiers. Any other thoughts on this?

Then fucking do a search or two! There are tons of tier posts.

 

Well, I did as you said, and the topics of tiering was about the ranks (kyu, dan, high king, whatnot). I want to know how people rank the characters in the game, not themselves. Got any other solutions?

eheh, GLC's got a point, but here, have a big thread on tiering anyway - a search of all forums for the word 'tier' brought up a thread called character balance and a slightly more informative (but older) thread called "How would you tier thus far?". The link to that one is:

My tiering, which is based solely on subjective guesswork and BS, also has akira at the top. Pai's at the bottom and lau + jacky round out the top three.
