1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

I own a Tatsunoko vs Capcom Wii fight stick that I've already modded to work on the PS3. I like this stick's base, its got good weight and is the perfect size for my hands. I also don't mind the art; its got good color and doesn't look as bad as other stock sticks, though I may work on that in the future.

    Here's a picture for reference:

I'm looking to gut the parts and I think I got it figured out, but I want outside input and encouragement before I finalize an order.

My current plan is to order the following:
    1 Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT stick
    1 35mm Sanwa balltop
    8 OBSF-30 Sanwa pushbuttons

These parts are accurate to the actual arcade VF parts, correct? Whats the difference between OBSF and OBSC buttons?

Are there any changes you'd make?

What kind of color scheme would you go with for the balltop and buttons? I may change the art in the future, but it will always be a primarily white base.

sounds fine. those parts are what you would need to recreate the arcade experience. dont know what the OSBC's are...

id change the art, but thats just me. i like the color scheme though. the white and blue is nice. its entirely up to your preferences.

there are probably large threads on Shoruyken about modding this stick, id check there for reference.

Just FYI but the Tatsunoko stick already uses a JLF clone with authentic Omron switches, so for all intents & purposes it IS a JLF. Nothing wrong with ordering a JLF, but don't bin the stock parts (even the buttons, the TvC buttons are good OBSF clones).

OBSC buttons are just OBSF with clear tops and a higher price tag.

Head on over to SRK's Tech Talk forum (which I used to frequent); or just ask away in the thread for more.

As for art, I generally say to either go VF colours (1 green, 1 pink, 1 light blue) and then 5 of any other colour (preferably same as background); or SF layout (6 of 1 colour, 2 of another).

Nothing to stop you mixing it up though.

    Examples:
    (2 plugs, 5 yellow/black rim, 1 full-black)

    (Dreamcast pad colours)

    (Tekken colours)

    (Blazblue layout)
^-- man, I miss that VSHG sometimes.
