Beside, Akira, Wolf, Aoi and Goh. The low jab in VF(since the first)is very annoying. I had a few matches today with my boy, and most time he ends up low jabbing like CRAZY, I do the same too, but damn!(He said it since VF 4) I think is to powerful. Here's a example. he was low jabbing, and by the second one, I DM with a kick, and he still hit me with a low jab, mind you, his pressing the button a lot. Another situation is when I try to hit him with a Mid punch(When I know he's about to duck and jab) the damn jab beats it out. We been looking for ways to stop this, because the people we know tend to do this a lot. I've seen it stop rising knees.

How do you stop this madness!

just backdash to make him whiff his low p, then punish accordingly to which character u're using.

    It's that simple.

Or block his low jab and follow with your own. Usually that will get someone to back up and do something else for fear of another low punch.

Being able to deal with LPs is what differentiates beginner from intermediate players. After you block the LP, immediately do an elbow or similar quick mid to stuff any attack the opponent might throw out after.

SIDESTEP THEN DUCKING GRAB IF U HAVE THAT TYPE OF CHARACTER ITS EASY TO PREDICT BECAUSE IT CAN ONLY BE USED PROPERLY AFTER CERTAIN MOVES

Does it matter if it's standing or crouching? Ice-9, thanks for making me feel like a Rookie, LOL.

    Nope.

Let's say you block the low punch. You then (typically) have +5 frames advantage. Since low punches are (typically) 12 frames, the opponent needs 17 frames if they want to successfully do another low punch. That means you the defender have 17 frames in which to attack. So a typical elbow (14 frames) should be more than enough to interrupt a second LP and major counter stagger the opponent.

Don't worry about feeling like a rook. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Dealing with LPs by hit checking is one of the most common fundamental things in VF that people neglect to do. Once you learn it though it'll take your game to the next level.

Find your character's fastest mid hit. It is often /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif When your boy throws the low punch, block it (which can be done standing). Then throw that quick mid hit which will likely stagger him, depending on who your character is. The timing is not totally easy, but not super hard either.

Also, backdash or evade and hit them with a middle kick when you think a low punch is coming.

Offensive Movement attack with punch(/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif//forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif) will beat low punch and stagger your opponent, even when you have zero frame advantage.

Do you use Aoi? She has a low punch reversal.

Goh akira, and Vanessa all have low punch sabaki moves.

with Pai, backdash and swallow kick (uf+k+k)

For an elbow type hit with El Blaze, I think his /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif fits the bill. And if his /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif works anything like Lei's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, it'll gobble low punches.

Yeah if someone is abusing 2p, just use more random 8p+k with Blaze. Safe on block, eats 2p alive (when it hits, combo 2p, 6pk, or just 6pk on heavies).

Also, try very small backdashes into 46p+k. If it counterhits their 2p/whatever it will crumple them and you can combo 3p+kpk or go for 33p+k+g low throw (when they crumple they're briefly considered crouching). Can also do this with 6k from a slightly longer range (also leads to combo on CH, 4kpp works well).

3k+g is also a special high kick, and while it'll whiff on crouching enemies, it'll counterhit people using 2p.

ALL THIS IS TRUE BUT U CAN DISCOURAGE PEOPLE A GREAT DEAL WITH THIS AND THE LOOK ON THEIR FACE IS ALWAYS PRICELESS BUT THE COMBINATION OF THE 3 TACTICS COMBINED WILL CERTAINLY MAKE THEM VERY HESITANT

I try out every ones tip. The low backdash helps out a lot, if not; a great deal. and my timing for counter attacking the low punch is on point. my problem was, I was trying to attack, while the person is still attacking, then just relaxing. Now, they have no idea what to do, I've took out of their game now. Revenge is real SWEET:) Thanks to everyone here, major props from the kid. like Eagle said, combine all three major tips, and I'm good to go.

Yeah that backdash tip really helped me a ton. Especially given my characters I like.

Theres alot of new people on VFDC I see? If you know he's going to spam 2p, dash in then bd to bait him in. Then float for the win. These are just basic strats. Seems like alot of you guys just started playing?
