TETRIS is pissing me off: HOW DO U DO IT?

Ok, its not really pissing me off but how do you guys get such astronomically high scores??

What lvl do you have to be playing at to even have scores in the hundreds of thougsands in points? My highest is only 53678points and that's when I started from lvl1 and died at lvl10. I tried starting from lvl 10 and the most I got to was lvl13 where it became almost impossible to move the pieces across the screein in time, not to mention being able to rotate them properly. I think I must've gotten at most around 12000pts when I start from lvl10.

Tips and Advice would be greatly appreciated.

ANd how about that JUGGLE game? How do u bounce it so many times?

i always start off at level 10, as for moving the pieces fast enough, make sure you use z and x instead of up, and watch your next piece more than the game... know where the next piece will go before your current piece is dropped. I only hold down when its really obvious what's going on, its not enough points to justify any mistakes

and try to get as many penis blocks as possible

1 line is less than 1000 points, while a 4 line is over 12,000

 

Are we talking about the Game Boy version? If not, please ignore my post.

In any case, I just wanted to second what SiYkiO wrote. You have all the important points in his post, i.e. start at 10, don't hold down (ever actually), watch the next block and go for Tetris' (4 rows; i.e. build up a structure that needs one of those looong [4 rows] blocks to be complete. Only bother going for less than Tetris when you are already almost at the top of the screen and no looong block is coming. Then it's ok to go wor 2s and 3s, just to get the structure down a little. But basically try only going for Tetris' because after you get rid of 100 rows the level goes up and then it will keep doing so every ten or so rows. By the time you reach some of the higher levels, screw going for Tetris and just try to get rid of single rows becaus the blocks will be falling so fast, you'll have barely time to react at all).

You should be in the hundreds of thousands in no time.
