Interesting post over on Event hubs

    Event Hubs story

Some people are saying that SFV has a hit priority system where strongest attack wins cleanly without any trades, as is the case with VF.

Do you think this is likely to be true?

If it is, will it make you more likely to try SFV??

Worth noting that popular returning character Karin Kanzuki also has move strings that explicitly create nitaku guesses for the opponent...

There was already a similar system in 3rd Strike where the stronger button always had priority over a weaker one if they should clash.

I have tried it and it's very boring and bad in it's current build, characters are only getting more and more taken from them in terms of combos and ability, I look forward to Tekken 7 and KOF 14, SF5 is extremely boring to play currently and I enjoyed getting my refund more than playing it.

I'm going to give SFV a try. More just to try out new fighting games than anything else, though.

Been playing the beta every chance I got. I'm enjoying it greatly. 3rd Strike was the last SF I enjoyed playing. SF4 was booty-butt-cheeks...hated it.

I'm eager to see the final build of this. Looks fun (sad that Makoto won't be in the initial roster, but yay Juri!)

Plan to play it but the build I played seemed very boring. I've had it on my PC for over a month and only played it like twice. I don't there is just something about it that just doesn't make feel like " OMG I HAVE TO PLAY THIS "

However I do like the new character FANG's design so maybe I'll be a little more hype when the final version is released.

In regards to Third Strike I've been playing a bit lately so if anyone wants to get some games in hit me up.

Yeah it's really boring I couldn't paly more than a few hours total of the BETA and even more combos and such have been removed since the old build you are playing on. Boredom is a real issue with SF5 currently.

Is the boredom somthing that's expected to be a future concern, or is it just the fact that it's a Beta, so people just haven't had enough time to explore the game to make it more interesting?

It is a serious issue, even notorious casual players like maxmillion went on a rant during his last and recent SF5 stream a few days ago saying how boring the game was and how unenjoyable all the characters have become. He said "I can't lie to you guys, this game isn't fun, i'm not really feeling it". He looked all depressed and said he was just grinding out matches on stream because he knew people wanted to see SF5, but that he wasn't having any fun with the game. Every build the characters get more taken away from them and the game becomes more watered down, so this new BETA on the weekend will have less combos available than the previous BETA, which had less combos than the initial BETA did. So the things that do get discovered in the BETA's get removed from the game immediately by Capcom and the results are a game with less and less, which ends up feeling odd and boring.

I was excited for the game until I played it and got bored immediately and got a refund from steam. Honestly I don't see how this game can do years of tournaments being this restrictive and boring, I expect that most players who aren't making money off of the game will get bored with it pretty quickly and return to their old games or get into something new like T7, KOF 14 etc.

That's too bad. This is one of the first chances I've had to pick up a newer fighting game from day 1, so I was hoping it would be ok. Hopefully things get better.

I'm starting to wonder if it'll be worth upgrading my PC to be able to run this game. I don't really use it heavily for gaming. Last time I used it for a game was many months ago.. But, all I'd have to do is buy windows 7.

No disrespect to maxamillion. He seems like a real chill dude. But his opinion don't mean much to me, personally. I remember him saying the game wasn't as fun when they took out the jabs/shorts into bread and butter combos. While I'm excited they took that stuff out. Even still, no matter who it is, I gotta play it for myself.

Disclaimer: I haven't played SF5 and am going on what I've seen and heard.

I don't mind less of long combos n whatnot. Since it seems like having timing for combos is pretty much gone, it doesn't really matter that certain combos are gone. I'll take em short and sweet like the 'Super/Super Turbo' days. Target combos are wack, mash reversals are wack. Only thing I can hope for is solid gameplay in the other areas.

Like I said though, I haven't played it. So I can't make a fair opinion on it.

    Beta confirms it now.
I've played some matches, priority is now set on stronger attacks.

I wouldn't believe too much of that crap.

I'm getting hit out of SPD's, which is some SHIT
We'll see about KOF14... but T7 doesn't even really have a character I like in it.

That's disappointing. I found SF4 boring and gave up after a few months and many other fg players I'd played VF or other games with felt the same way about it. Hope the final version and further updates will improve it since this is more than likely going to be the most played fighter.

KOF I like a lot and despite how 14 looks it's getting some good impressions from KOF players who played it at the PSX show. it sounds like they know what their doing gameplay wise and it could be one of the best fighters on the way. Tekken 7 I'm not sure about. Not too keen on what they did to the side step and throw game and their saying some of the new characters are extremely cheap. Hope that new version of T7 really changes things up in a good way. Akuma is doing things I haven't seen in a 3d fg.
