Ok, being a noob myself, I won't flame you as much as some of the others might. You REALLY should learn to use the search feature though. /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif
MC means major counter which is just when you interrupt your opponent's attack with your own. (specifically, during the execution phase of the move)
Also, there is a mC which means minor counter and that is when you attack your opponent after you've blocked their move and hit them before they recover. (specifically, during the recovery phase of their attack. Also called a guaranteed hit)
TT means an move that turns you toward your opponent when your back is facing them.
TFT is Kage's Ten-Foot Toss throw which is [4][P]+[G]. It is pretty much the move you want to abuse as Kage because it sets up some beautiful combo opportunities.
When a move says sober (dp-1 or -2) it means that when this move is used against Shun or Dural and they have some drink points (DP) that it will take off that many drink points. Drink points allow Shun and Dural to become much stronger, so chipping away at their DP is always a good idea.

Hope that helps. And please use the search feature next time. I hate seeing new people beaten to death over this.

Well I kinda don't agree with DriftPlusPlus, youd do NOT want to abuse TFT that much against experienced players, as they will throw escape it nearly 100% of the time.

As for dp, it's shun's drink points, sobering him means beating the drunken-ness out of the old bastard. Akira has some pretty sick combos that sober him out quite a bit.

If you ever see DP, it means dragon punch not drink points, DP is Kage's [6][2][3][P]+[K]

Yeah, constant TFTs against pros is stupid but the reason they escape it so much is because of how dangerous it is. First, learn to punish with the TFT. Then, you can force a TFT throw escape attempt and punish that.

As for drink points, it should be dp not DP (especially when talking about both Shun and Kage) My mistake.

You know, Ragnafrak, when you want to be a smart-ass and make someone feel stupid about missing an 'obvious' post, you might want to make sure that post actually says something that answers the original poster's question. The VF Notation thread is good but doesn't say anything about MC,TT,TFT,or sober(dp). How exactly was this supposed to help DShadow?

Could someone tell me what stagger means?

stagger is when your character starts swaying like they're drunk and you have to wait until they've recovered to make a move OR you see an arcade stick flashing next to your character and you have to make them recover faster by mashing the buttons. for example: let's say you're crouching and kage (your opponent) hits you with [3][K]+[G], you are going to stagger. If this doesn't help, use the SEARCH. =)

You can look up most of the terms on the game itself actually, it's in the training section. Some abbreviations to know: dp, drink points for Shun. MC, major counter. mC, minor counter. GS, Wolf's giants swing. DLC, Akira's dragon lance combo. DE, SDE, Akira's dashing elbow and super dashing elbow. DP, Kage's dragon punch. TFT, Kage's [4][P]+[G]. There are lots more, especially for Akira, I don't have time to list them all right now, but you can figure them out yourself sometime.
