INTRODUCING THE WEST COAST + 4 (WESTCOAST THROWBACK)

You read that right, <font color="blue">YOSUKE</font> is coming to town! It's a perfect reason to throw a SoCal VF super-party. Hone your mad VF4:Evolution/Final Tuned skills and come to battle with the best SoCal and the world has to offer. Players from outside of SoCal are welcome to. attend. I think it's definitely worth the effort.

Who's gonna be there? Places to stay: Currently, <font color="blue">LPC73</font> has offered his couch (which is in front of a giant-ass 60+ inch Mitsubishi DLP TV). Check this thread for other SoCal players offering lodging. If you want to use a Hotel/Motel, you can use the Motel 6 near Plague's house (it's 2 or 3 miles from his place) or the Motel 6 near AI.

Will you hit traffic? Hell, it's Friday night - you bet there will be traffic. Don't let that sway you! This trip is worth every minute of it.

What we provide: Three TVs, US PS2 with Evo, Japanese PS2 with Evo, two evo sticks, two ASCII sticks, air conditioning, fridge full of soda, couple or three bags of chips, places to sit, room for five or six (maybe seven?) VF setups.

What you all need to bring: Biggest TVs you can come up with and fit in your car (remember, it's better to have too many), POWER STRIPS, your PS2s, your sticks, and your evo discs.

What about food? Everyone usually chips in for food. Lots of fast food in the area. Good sit-down restaurants, too.

What's gonna happen? Lots of VF4Evo. Major good times.

Sunday Mar 26th: I thought I would post some info if anyone is interested in going to Disneyland on the 26th:

Since I am quite familiar with DL I will sort be the guide for the day. DL is broken up into two theme parks. One being California Adventure (rides being River Run, Tower of Terror, Soarin, and Screamin Rollercoaster) and the other being Disneyland. Depending on the amount money you want to spend we can actually visit the best rides at both parks:

Prices:
$59 for just Disnayland
$79 for both parks DL and DCA

Basic Itinerary if we decide on both parks:
Enter DL between 8am-9am
Exit DL around 12pm (if no one cares for DCA then we stay at DL)
Enter DCA and have lunch.
Head back to Disneyland around 5pm and have dinner
Watch fireworks then Fantasmic
Exit park at 11ish pm

If interested we can then head to Arcade Infinity get there around 12am for one last late night play of VF FT

Now i know most people don't want to go to DL, but if any one (and I mean just one person) wants to go, just let me know.

Go to Magic Mountain, or Knott's Berry Farm

Race karts at Adam's Kart Track - serious, real, karting. (located near Plague's house). Race indoor karts at Dromo1 - less serious, easier to arrive and drive. Race for fun at SpeedZone - even less serious and a lot of fun - different types of vehicles to race (located very near Arcade Infinity).

Eat food, drink alcohol, experience hot car-hop skating waitresses at Frisco's (located very near Arcade Infinity).

Take <font color="blue">Plague's</font> now-famous lunch at Frisco's or other restaurant and then a driving tour of Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and the Coast down to Venice Beach. It's about 3 hours long. Up to three riders travel by Subaru WRX power! Four, five, or six (getting crowded at six) travel by cushy leather appointed Honda Odyssey!

Want to see the mountains and take a WRX ride on a really twisty, dangerously fun road? PM <font color="blue">Plague</font> for details. Take something for motion sickness (seriously). One person only.

If anyone has been looking at the New York thread, Yosuke is planning a trip down to Los Angeles in the near future. Anyone want to make plans for VF and non VF related Ideas?

This is an open invite, so i want you Bay area (ktallguy and ice-9) and Colorado people to come down here, I think theres a few Vfers in Arizona as well.

A.I. & console so both, right? This is nice notice. Timing might be rough for work since that weekend is traditionally busy at Louie's, but I'll keep the pocketbook sound and the date marked on my calendar. Hopefully some of 225 can be there.

Thanks for the invitation--it would be great to meet up with all the SoCal players again. Hopefully my schedule will let me get away, but I won't know until March earliest. The bulk of summer internship interviews happen in February and March I think.

I have a few questions. are there a lot of Jacky players? could someone shows some of our movie for BK_, and please tell me your main characters and which prefer FT or EVO. I guess some guys prefer VF, and the others prefer EVO. I am curious how % these are?

I don't think that any one in the US prefers EVO over FT. Some people play EVO because they do not have FT in their area.

On a side note... maybe I will try to make an appearance as well.

I'm going to the 60th birthday party for my teacher, Bob Roberts, and japanese tattoo master San Dai Me Horiyoshi, who were born on the same year, same day, March 9th.

Here's some thoughts - times and event will be decided based on visiting player's (Yosuke, Jerky, Blondie, Sanjuro, Srider, etc.) schedules and desires - however, feel free to use the following info to help schedule flights.


VF related:

I think it would be cool to do a VF4:Evo party at my place on Friday night starting, say, at 7:30 pm. Then everyone could sleep it off Saturday morning/afternoon, maybe hit up a restaurant for dinner and then go to AI for some massive FT action.


Stuff I can do for visitors:

I can provide transportation to and from Ontario Airport.

I've got two couches available for out-of-town/state/country visitors.


Non-VF related:

The driving tour (L.A., Hollywood, the coast, Venice Beach) I did for Myke and Shag went off really well. If people want to do this, my Odyssey seats, like, 6 or 7. The previous tour was driving only and took about three hours - starting and ending in Riverside.

 

I'd like to take you up on that offer Plague, but I don't know if I I'll be able to make it yet. If I could catch a ride down with anybody from the bay area that would make my trip even more possible.

cool dude... glad there is a core of US players that are willing to go out and meet everyone.
Seems like not many people doing that these days with a lot of low populated scenes.
