silenced buttons?

Hey all,
I have one (somewhat weird) question: are there any silenced stick buttons to buy? And if yes, what is the price / quality; and where to get them?

To explain my problem: I am sleeping a lot less that my whife is; and I am playing Vf mainly at evenings. But... The stick buttons clapping is not the best for good nighty sleep of her, so I am switching for pad when she went to bed. And I am not that bad at pad, but pad is bad for Vf
So I am looking for some way how to make my stick less loudy - and because 90+ % of the noise comes fromthe buttons, they are obviously the place to start.

Is there any way how to get over my problem?

 

Sanwa has had quiet buttons and joysticks for a year or so now that you can special order from them. I know Paradise Arcades also sells 20 gram microswitches for JLF sticks (4 switches + harness) for $10 that really cut the stick noise down by a good 75% or so.

The one from Paradise Arcade is only for the stick yes.

If you don't mind waiting a bit you can get the upcoming EXAR Guilty Gear Quiet Sanwa Edition Stick that is coming for the PS3. It's being specially made for the launch of "Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus" which is coming to XBL and PSN shortly. It looks awesome and here is a video of it.

That silenced stick looks awesome for sure. ATM I am working on custom stick for myself; if it goes wrong or turned out not appealing, I will consider this stick for sure.

When I saw the Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus stick, I started seriously considering (and am still considering) modding one of my arcade sticks with a silent set of sticks and buttons.

The main reason: Going to be a father really soon (probably before the end of the month, maybe even within a week lol)! I figure, if I'm on baby-watch over a sleeping baby, I really should use a quieter arrangement!

However, AJS has given me a pro tip: "When my child is asleep, I literally play with a blanket over my hands and controller!"

Sounds like a great tip! Though I'm curious if the wife misinterpreted what was happening under the sheets

You can also try this for buttons. Basically, you use something like Micro-Suede, Synthetic Felt, or something similar that is very thin as a dampener.

They also sell a Cherry switches kit -- slightly higher price & noise than the 20g, but Cherry switches are much higher quality.

No idea how "reliable" it is, but it's just like Kickstarter.
