Sanwa/Seimitsu/Hrap questions

Hi, I got me a HRAP1 a month back and am modding my old Agetec DC stick to work on a PS2, and I'm hoping someone can answer some of these little questions:

    1) Does the Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y sticks or the Seimitsu LS-32 feel closest to the feel of the Agetec Dreamcast sticks?

    2) Does anyone prefer the Seimitsu LS-32 sticks over the Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y? I know the Sanwa is used mostly for 3D fighters, but it doesn't seem quite so comfortable with 2D games in some situations.

    3) I was looking to pick up some Sanwa buttons and was wondering how much better the "RG" pushbuttons were than the normal OBSF-30/OBSN-30s. I know the RGs are meant to be more durable, but are they noticeably more responsive, or is the difference pretty negligable?

    4) I've read on other forums that the screw-in Sanwa buttons are a tight fit on a HRAP. Can anyone confirm this?

    5) I'm getting a bit annoyed by how easily the HRAP1 faceplate picks up scratches, the only downer on an otherwise brilliant stick (well, OK, that and the fact it doesn't come with Sanwa buttons as standard). Does anyone know where I can get a new faceplate from? In fact, is there anyone out there that cuts custom faceplates?

    Thanks!

1)Seimetsu feels more like the green goblin than the sanwa, though I personally prefer sawna.
2)I use sanwa on 2d fighters all the time and I love it, don't find it ackward at all.
    3) RGs are great buttons but I get along fine with traditional snap ins.
    4) a tight fit but it works.
    5) You could get a custom job, or you could get that Tekken 5 bundle and either not use the fast action switches or do a little bit of metal work on that. I however do not have the equipment.

    Cool, thanks.

Since I already have a HRAP equipped with a Sanwa stick, I reckon I might do something a little more ambitious with the Agetec and totally mod the stick with Sanwa buttons and a Seimitsu LS-32 stick so I have the best of both worlds.

I reckon I'll be more than happy with the normal Sanwa buttons and won't bother with the RG buttons so long as I'm able to do Akira's knee and Lei's Hereru dancing after some practice. The current Hori buttons just don't quite cut the mustard.

    Some more questions:

    1) What is the diameter of the rim (is that the name for it? I'm talking about the bit around the pushbutton that sits above the surface of the arcade panel) of a PS-14-G or PS-14-GN (the snap ins, NOT screw in variety), as they look unusually wide compared to Seimitsu screw ins and all Sanwas?

    2) What is the length of a Sanwa RG and Seimitsu GN below the rim (i.e. total length of button that would be below the cabinet panel)? I'd like to put these top of the range buttons in the Agetec, but I'm a mighty bit concerned there won't be enough clearance inside the case!

    3) In case I decide not to use snap-in buttons, what's the total diameter of a screw nut on a Sanwa and Seimitsu button? Again, I'm a bit concerned with clearance problems in the Agetec, particularly one of the uprights beside the "A" button.

    4) Just wondering about the feel of Seimitsu buttons in comparison to Sanwa/Hori stock pushbuttons. Now, I already have some Sanwa buttons in my HRAP (thanks Rod@himuragames!), and I love the light feel of them compared to the Hori brand buttons, which were much stiffer and actually hurt my knuckle joints after extended usage(!!!). If I'd continued using them in the longterm I reckon I might have developed repetitive strain injury. I heard that Seimitsu buttons were heavier to press than Sanwa, but I'm just wondering how they compared to Hori buttons? Just from an aesthetic point of view I really want Seimitsu buttons with a black rim for this project (they look fantastic!), but if they're too stiff it looks like I'll have to go Sanwa again. I'd be extra grateful for any opinion on this particular subject!

    5) Whew! Final question: I'm looking at an LS-55-01 as the LS-32 is a little too short to fit in the Agetec. There ARE ways around this problem, but I think I will settle for the LS-55. Just wondering what people's opinions of the LS-55 were and if it was OK for fighting games like SF3 and GGX2#. BTW, what arcade machines/games is this model of stick normally used in?

Many, many thanks for any replies to the above questions! I hope I explained the whole "rim" thing clearly ...

    Cheers!
