Promotions in VS. mode

I'm sure this has been touched on before, but I wanted to throw this out, because it came as a surprise to me when it happened:

I have successfully moved up both Lei and Aoi in Kumite, but I was finding it almost impossible to move up Pai. One day, when doing something or other in VS. to get an item, I got a promotion match! You just have to follow the ranking guide to get the match (i.e. have your created player fight another created player of the same rank, 5 matches or whatever the criteria is for your next promotion).

So's I got to thinking..... I created a new Lei character at the same time as my new Pai. I moved them both up the ranks in Kumite, and when I started having a hard time with the CP's, then I just have Pai fight Lei in VS. for the promotion.

I hope this helps anyone who doesn't already know about this. (also anyone, like myself, who just wants to get all the items/outfits but has no particular motivation to master all the players!) ; )
