    Hi all, I'm new to the forums, and I'm looking for some advice to utilize Pai's throws well. As far I can tell from the command list, she has 4 directions to go for, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif being the easiest to execute for guaranteed damage, and hence the most widely used throw escape directions.

    Her other two throw directions /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif ( /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif) are low in damage, and I cannot seem to get /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif to connect 100% against players. I'd assume if they are good at struggling out of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is not a foolproof combo? Or am I slow, and need to buffer it in faster for damage?

    To all Pai veterans, how can I improve the throw game with Pai, or do you folks opine that using /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif > bokutai is the more effective manner of playing nitaku?

    set the CPU in dojo mode to struggle out of staggers (try both normal and fastest) to see wich setups are actually combos.

    After /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is guaranteed. The only way it would not connect is if you input the swallow kicks too late.

    As for /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, swallow kicks are not guaranteed.

    All right thanks for confirming those, what are Pai's options after /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif ? Correct me if I'm wrong, but it would seem /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif are simply throws that set up the opponent for some guessing games, as well as incorporate a directional change right?

    What about /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif ? In Quest mode I see Pai players aiming for /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif and it seems to connect 100% on me, but when I tried it, again there's a chance of failure. There's no struggle stick associated with this throw, so am I correct in assuming slow input on my part again?

    There are lot of options after this p[osition throw:
    1. MC /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif -> side crumple -> combo
    2. crouch dash -> throw
    3. quessing game

    There is nothing guaranteed after this input !

    There is no guaranteed damage after this throw, but it allows you guessing game near wall, for example:
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif -> wall -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif -> heavy pounce
    or:
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif -> wall -> crouch dash -> throw

    To add to what others have said, once the opponent starts to expect attacks after these setup throws, they may end up conditioned to struggle and block, hoping they are not guaranteed. That's when you just walk up and do a big throw instead of attacks. I have had that done on me by better Pai players, so I stole it.

    I really believe some setup throws are also there simply to confuse the people who keep breaking your main throws. No one breaks /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gifthrows against Pai until they get caught with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif a few times, for example. So, bust it out when you get your /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif throws broken even once. You can go for the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif throw immediately after it, but people who know Pai will go for that /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif break. If they do tend break the low throw after the setup, walk up and do another /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif right after it instead! I once got 3 in a row on a good player, only to finally do the follow-up /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif. (adds up to Jeffry-esque throw damage) The better the opponent, the better mind games work. Noobs don't think enough to be susceptible to mind games, so stick with the meat and potatoes.

    Also I noticed you said /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif was big guaranteed damage, but the opponent can simply recover from the landing, which leaves it at mediocre damage status.

    big throw damage also comes from stuff like /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif (into a wall) > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/ub.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif (as soon as he comes off the wall). This turns the lowly 45 throw into a 67!

    More complicated (but effective) is when you use her throws for ring positioning. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif is weak, but if you pay attention you'll see that it consistently pushes the opponent in the direction of their own stomach. (their left foot is forward, stomach faces their right, for example) so pay attention to their stance, and use that throw to push the opponent 90 degrees toward the wall or ring edge. If /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif does bounce someone off the wall, a simple /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif will turn that 40 damage into a 55 damage, even with the best recovery. Just make sure you pay attention to the stance so you don't put YOURSELF in a bad position by accident.

    If you want to switch your opponent's stance ASAP, use the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif throw. For example, you and your opponent are near the edge of the ring, parallel to the ledge. you see his right foot is forward, so his back is facing ringout. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif will change his stance. (now stomach toward ringout) While that stun is in effect, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif tap to freeze him up (and make him stand straight up), and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif for the ringout! (not necessarily guaranteed but you will find it effective if you save it for a rainy day)

    Another ringout/position technique to look for is that /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif always throws the opponent 90 degrees towards Pai's back, regardless the opponent's stance. You can change Pai's stance with a simple /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif. This way you can always control which way you throw the guy. (preferably out of the ring!)

    Just a thought.

    Pai's throws: Ring Position Control

    The mega damage from wall combos in the R vids made me think "Gee, ya don't want to get your back to the wall in that game!" Then I realized: I don't want my back to the wall in THIS game either. Wall or open, it sucks, with some exceptions.

    This Pai dojo has been dead for some time now, and it seems many people lost interest in Pai. I say we revive interest in the hottest VF chick since we caught Lion playing dress-up in his mom's bedroom, by exploring her prowess at putting her opponent where she wants him/her.

    My throw babbling above is actually OK, especially with regards to ring position control. I tested the technical stuff in dojo before I posted it. There's more to be said, and I say we get the old Pai vets to continue the flow of information. (AHEM Geewaiho, Konradinho, DaBadSeed, Cruz, Yip, etc...) There are Pai young'uns out there getting bullied by Wolfs and Vanessas and Jeffs (oh my) and we need to back them up.

    If you have insight, please pipe up.

    I'll start. Opponent's back to the edge, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif will ringout, but you know this guy will break it. What to do? Try:
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif setup throw ->
    1. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif stagger, for many ringout options.
    2. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif if you are close enough to the edge.
    3. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif for the throw you really wanted in the first place, now in tap-throw formula.

    OR try /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif are not common throw directions people break against Pai, esp. near edges.

    DO NOT DO /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif after /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif in this situation or you will ring yourself out!!!

    Re: Pai's throws: Ring Position Control

    Just read this!
    Just to touch up on some throws (wasnt going to but my presence was requested i guess :p)

    as stated earlier, the less damaging throws should be used more for guessing games.

    ill give you some examples...

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif is usually followed up with something along the lines of a mid kick, namely /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif...
    it crushes on normal, and crushes on counter (cuz the opponent is side turned). i'm pretty sure you know what options you have to get big damage there :D... and if your opponent crouches you can get the stagger (which can be followed up with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif if your input is fast enough, chief flash taught me that one :D)

    heres where the mix up comes in though...

    most people know not to do silly things like crouch or attack when side turned... and thats why you bait them!!!!!!! guessing games make me happy in my pants, im sorry XD

    ok but seriously, if you find yourself in a situation where you know your opponent isn't an idiot and goes for a block or a side step, GRAB THAT SON OF A BITCH AGAIN!!!!
    i, personally like to do the same grab again (in this case /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif cuz it opens up a different type of situation (the mind is a wonderful thing to fuck :D)

    sweeping works too...

    *Edit*
    I just re-read my post and realized i said i'd give a FEW examples...

    WELL THEN!
    2 grabs you shouldn't SPAM but should use for things like positioning, forcing stagger mix-ups, so on and so on...

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif
    Many will find some way to disagree with my next statement but i dont give a shit... these grabs are RARELY USED IN A MATCH!!!

    but this is why this is a good thing.
    those grabs are rarely seen so most people don't know how to combat against it...

    i like to use those grabs next to a wall, it causes them to stagger so you can either attack if you know they are poor strugglers, or mix up with low attacks/throws for the more speedy recoverers!

    that's all you get out of me! can't expose all my secrets... GOOD LUCK!

    i like self-promotions so check this out! i have some of those grabs in my little video

    Finally, someone came back to the Pai dojo. The rest of you are deserters. DESERTERS! Thanks Yip.

    I disagree!! (you called it) Well, not totally. You're right for /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif but people are breaking /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif throws already for her /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif anyway, so /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif is pretty much the same thing. If the guys isn't breaking /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif then just take your 60 damage and run, unless you have a great ringout opportunity, no?

    LOL! Brokeback! (I know it's old but Yip set himself up!)

    And I am not a deserter! LOL! Just had nothing to add to the thread, and there was that SC4 thing...

    Anyways...

    Well, I don't know. I have nothing to say...

    6P+G (opp against the high wall, after opp hits wall) + the following:

    2K
    9K
    8 OR 2P+K (whichever one works)
    66P

    and more, but I'm too lazy...

    And I just found out we're supposed to talk about THROWS, not COMBOS...

    But I typed it already and I'm not deleting it.
    Sorry if this is somewhat off-topic (it has a throw anyways) but I kinda sleepy... :yawn:
