1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. You need a network dimm board, a net boot keychip and the tools to transfer the files.

This has killed the software market for Naomi. [IMG]

Compact Flash/GD-ROM is the only offical method I recommend.

    i'm actually looking to get a naomi 2 + vf4ft very soon.

right now i just have a copy of the original ggxx, so if i were to use that security chip, it would work just fine with any other game?

and what's this about compactflash cards? that sounds incredible.

I believe I got a copy of VF4 FT GD-ROM and chips, and also a VF4 Evolution cartridge.

Compact Flash is offical GD-ROM replacement method, the game loads from CF card instead, loading time is around the same on Naomi (maybe a small % faster) - the system doesn't use DMA on the ATA interface.

Compact Flash does require a network dimm board as it needs to update the firmware to 4.01, but VF4 FT requires dimm 3.17 firm or higher anyway. [IMG]

  5. Hey... Thank you AndyGeezer for coming in, and taking some time to answer in our forums.

I always wondered why SEGA went the compact flash instead of other mediums like SD or some other medium. Even DVDs could have been used as an alternative. I am sure the same things done with CF could have been done on alternate media. I just don't like how easy it is to bend one pin when inserting CF cards, and do you think that anyone would be willing to develop a reader to replace the GDROM drive in a Dreamcast.

    Keep up the great work.
