Do tutorial training. Answers just about all the questions you'll have about mission practice.

For counter hit practice, just keep doing [2_][P].
Um, I do not understand your problem with evade attack?

Well evade attack is [2]+[P]+[K]+[G] right?? I can never pull it off... You know the series where you do [3]+[P] ~ Evade attack.. I can't do it.. It keeps hitting normally and i never evade :/

I don't play Kage but evade attack is [2](AND THEN)[P]+[K]+[G] for all characters.

as for throws - don't be so predictable

Down attacks - only use them after moves that they can't recover from.

    All pretty simple really

If you keep using the same throws, they will escape them. Once you've used a throw like four times, the computer will consistantly escape it. For down attacks go for moves that cause crumples and collapses, wall bounces, beatdown chains, and/or throws that leave you close enough to deal out a down attack immediately afterwards.

Evade attacks require you to first evade then do the attack, although it doesn't have to be a successful evade. Go through training mode and you'll understand. If you don't go through training mode and challenge mode, you'll be victimized by many things that you won't understand the underlying mechanics and that you won't understand how to defend against.

Evade attack. You are most likely entering [P]+[K]+[G] too early, try to let the evade settle for a little longer then enter [P]+[K]+[G].

    Guard Challenge 4

I have some Mission Practice problems myself, thought I'd post them here instead of wasting space with a new thread.

Just barely beat Guard Challenge 3 by doing what I think is a rudimentry form of fuzzy guard. How the hell do I beat Guard Challenge 4?

Yeah, I'm a total newb. Ah well, any help massively appreciated. Thanks!

Bleh, my bad, this thread is about the Mission Practice, I'm thinking Challenge mode.

Man, some of those Challenges are a pain in the ass *sigh*. Is there a Challenge FAQ up anywheres?

There's a sticky thread in the Console board called Training Mode Translations which is the closest thing to a FAQ you'll find. It has translatations (jp to en) for all the modes found under the Training menu (Trial, Free, Challenge, Mission).

    Re: Guard Challenge 4

There was a post with a link to the 'Fuzzy Guarding' thread floating around somewhere as well. Maybe someone remembers which thread it was in... I looked and couldn't find it. Someone else deserves the credit for the important line in bold below which allowed me to finish this challenge - I would have never figured that out on my own. Here's what I remember of it.

As far as Guard Challenge 4, it's a mofo. You do it like challenge 3, except you have to crouch dash at the start and not hit guard until much later than guard challenge 3. They tell you that you need to crouch dash to get into a crouch to avoid the throw, but they forget to mention an important piece of information. If you hit guard too soon, you cancel your crouch dash and get grabbed. So instead of 'hit and hold guard, duck, stand, duck' like challenge 3, now you need to 'crouch dash, hit guard and stand after you're sure the throw animation is over, then duck'. The crouch dash gets you under the throw, the standing guard takes care of the double palm, and the duck takes care of the low arm punch.

One little trick I found out that I haven't seen anyone else mention is that you have to crouch dash, but you can do it either direction. I found it easier to crouch dash away from Akira, since that gave me a few extra frames to get back into the standing guard. I'd also occassionally dash completely out of throw range and get a success even if I futzed and hit guard too soon (which should have resulted in a throw).

I think your post is useless and off the topic when the other people in this thread have all tried to be helpful with the question asked by a new player. If you have nothing to contribute, why don't you stay out of it. /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif

    And too help this dude:
The [3][P] is good. [2][K]+[G] is also good (vs evades).
    There you go.

Guess what? I care. I care about the noise level in these forums, and you're just adding to it with these stupid pic links.

    Please stop it.
