Initiating Jacky floaters in Evo!

They're has got to be an alternative to [3][3][K] to initiate floaters! Doesn't he have some kind of knee thing like Sarah, Brad (+ many others)? I remember that one thing I was doing well with Brad was floaters, which I don't seem to be able to initiate very well. Also, I'm getting into a real bad habbit of repeating my [1][P][K], [P], [P], [P], [P], [K]/[2][K] when I panic / don't know what to do. Any advice on guard cancelling, faking, shifting combos, delaying combos, NEW combos?

Furthermore, are they're any combos where the Somersault Kick can be integrated?

There are plenty if you coun't crumbles as well, which for all intents and purposes are just as good. The moose knuckle comes to mind. Then he's got those two punches (usually come out of a crouch) sorry I can't tell you the commands.

Finally, don't forget the upper. Doesn't float, but is quite strong, and not TC. Generally has the same properties as Vanessas upper, but gives a bit more damage if your opponent can't recover in time.

Brad does, however, float easier I'd say.

    [P]+[K] , [P] starts several floating combos.

    [4]+[K]+[G] starts several bounce combos.

    floaters:
    1. [P]+[K] (normal hit)
    2. [6][K] (counter hit)
    3. [3][3][K] (normal hit)

Somersault is guaranteed in any of the combos provided you're in open stance, however:

[P]+[K][P] ~ [7][K]+[G] works on any character, any stance.

Note: you can do the somer with or without [G], but I recommend you always use [G] since it comes out just a few frames faster.

Also [P]+[K] is guaranteed after a [4][6][P]+[K] counter hit.

In free training, have a look at what combos are suggested with the somersault and try them out. Also do the Tactics and Advice training for Jacky to get some setups and more combos. This post (just scroll down to the Jacky section) has some basics to get you started. Finally, try searching the forums for other Jacky combos.

Like GaijinPunch mentioned, you have crumble hits and slam hits too from which you can combo.

Don't do this chain unless your counting on the first hit to hit on MC(+2) or your doing this chain to time the last [K] to interrupt rising attacks for show /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif.

I use Jacky's [6]+[K] as my secondary floating tool next to his BKunckle. [6]+[K] is his best floater imo /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Jacky's best chain IMO is a mix up of his [P][P] strings. [P][P][6]+[P](-9).....[P][P][4]+[P][K](if the backfist is blocked they have to block the [K], this makes for a great pushing and moving tool to get the opponent into a wall or ringout position)......[P][P][8]+[P](beats attacks at great range and is also circular but specail high so they can duck it).

My personal favorite if you watch stance and foot forward position is Jacky being in closed stance, left foot forward position. From here his [4]+[P]+[K],[K](left foot forward MID) is your best friend. I use this string kind of like a sabaki. [4]+[P]+[K] has an evading property of beating elbow and lp from a closed stance. By tacking on the kick you get a mid kick stagger if the opponent lp's, and I can't read japanese very well to know what the advantage is on 1/60th site but i know if the kick hits on MC standing you can mix up throw and elbow, or do the string again /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif. If anyone can help me out, I'd actually like to know the frames of a Left foot forward kick hitting after a [P] or [4]+[P]+[K] on block, normal, mC, MC thanx.

One thing also, is using the lightning kick [2][P]+[K]. Just once now and then, when timed with combos that were blocked, it's a good way to interrupt the opponents counter. Sometimes you can land 3 kicks [2][P]+[K][K][K], never go for the 4th and 5th kick, they're usually blocked and you'll be in trouble after those 2 kicks. Also, [P]+[K][P][1][K] is a good small floater. [P]+[K][P][1][P][1][K] is even better but doesn't always hit with the last 2, depending on how the opponent falls.
And finally, learn combos for all characters, so you know when NOT to hit [G] and Pak Sao will save your but, rember to press [P] and follow up with a kick-combo since the punch after Pak sao sends the opponets a little too far back. [K][K] and then [6][K] [6][K] [3][K] will often do a good trick.
