    Is this happening to people more and more? Seems that the more firmware updates you get for the PS3 the harder it is to start up VF5 with it hanging during loading sequences of data and so on. About 3 people in my area have this problem increasingly (latest firmware update definatly made a difference) and the one guy who doesnt hasnt updated his firmware in ages.

    Is this a common problem / any workabout to get into VF? Sometimes I have to boot up the game 3-4 times just to get in.

    Thanks

    Hey KiwE, I've got the same problem. I've had a few times when the game froze during loading the match. Last time it happened, I played Jigohro, and he just got his 666th loss !!! It's Devil's doing!

    On the serious note, there's something wrong with it, but I dunno what. The firmware changed something definitely. I use SDTV for my consoles right now, on an RGB cable and after the last update VF looks different! It's more sharp (even when set on soft in options) but the colors seem brighter... or blank.

    EDIT: And my disk is perfectly clean, no scratches.

    This only happening to NTSC copies then? I might load mine up and see if I notice anything.

    I've found that it, atleast for me, it helps if I cancel the initial loading of data, but still load in the Sega data afterwards. As you know there are two loading sequences when booting up the game - I believe the first (the datacheck) is something that has built in PS3 support and as such that's where the fuckup lies now.

    So in sum;

    1) Start the disc, choose YES at "do you want to use game data"
    2) Cancel this load process at once.
    3) Go on and load in the Sega data (after the Now Loading...) appears. Press YES at the "Do you want to load the saved data?" screen.

    Using the method above I've had no more problems booting up PS3 VF5.

    Maybe deleting the game data and reinstalling the game will solve the problem?

    That's what I did, and by doing that, it went back to normal....But, it killed my BluRay Drive. So now, I have to wait till 2morrow to get my box from Sony(Two freaking weeks of BS with Sony on the phone)One system breaks my VF5 disc(360) while the other kills my drive(PS3) I'm really getting annoyed by this.

    For some odd reason, that seems to help alot of the PS3 problems for certain titles that have issues of freezing or lock ups(Assassin Creed and GTAIV come to mind) By not logging into the PSN, the issues should stop until a patch is release(Just like Assassin Creed and GTAIV)
