1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

How would you folks like a Tekken Kinect?

Imagine if Tekken went on Kinect (a motion sensing input device). Would that be a great idea & Why is that? Move your body to the fight & Upload Tekken kinect fights on you tube! if that succeeds, they should create a Tekken Fighting motion simulator So we can actually fight Tekken characters like Kazuya, Jin, Hwoarang, Baek, Eddy, Bryan, Ling Xiaoyu, Marduk, Steve, Asuka, Lars, etc. It will be in Las Vegas casinos where we can win money like $70,000,000. BTW I wanna do an action/fighting game show on new year's eve called New year's Eve of Fighters or something like that. The way I wanna celebrate it.

Please stop creating posts as "calender events".

Also, this post has absolutely nothing to do with the "New Starter" forum. It's being moved to the General forum, but I suspect this topic would be better received in tekken forums.

Um... No... Tekken + Kinect won't work unless you made shortcuts to moves.

I remember playing a MoCap version of T3 at a theme park in Maryland way back in the day. Every limb was assigned to a button, and you would lean to move. Combos were really goofy looking to say the least, and chances of falling over from attempting to stairstep and attack were very high...

So with that said, no... Kinect only works with boxing and gladiator-esque games...

Doesn't Tekken have enough gimmicks already?

Tekken Kinect could work with enough creativity. The game wouldn't need to be cannon or anything, and could take place using the first person perspective. The mechanics overall might have to change dramatically from what we're used to, but sure, it could work.

Well, that depends upon what you call a gimmick. People might consider items, custom intros, item moves, non-human characters, etc. to be gimmicks. But as long as their presence isn't detrimental to the gameplay, I don't consider them to be bad. Also, a Kinect game doesn't need to be gimmicky, as long as the execution is handled well. I don't think the game should be a formal iteration of the series, but rather I think it should be a side game using the Tekken name to pique interest.

First answer is "Do not want."

Second answer is, I think it's better to create a new fighting series (if more than one anyways) on Kinect than to shoehorn Kinect onto an existing fighting game series that already carries expectations.

Whether or not it carries a brand the game would still have to prove itself.

Furthermore, if it was built onto an existing series--there would be the need to please fans by building the game first with traditional controls. Again, I think it's better to just create something new with such an ambitious project.

I guess for a Tekken side game will work.
