This is my first post, and before I get flamed, I would like to say that I have scoured through multiple attempts on SEARCH, and read post after post about all sorts of information that came up by using SEARCH. I have also looked at various FAQ's on the internet and have never gotten a clear answer. I have almost all Quest Orders complete, but: how EXACTLY do I get a guarunteed hit? It doesn't say anywhere in the tutorial or manual. Also, the QOs that tell you to get 30 or so throw escapes, do I have to be on standard to do this? I am still relatively new to the game and when I do guarunteed throw moves on the beginner level, the AI never seems to counter with a throw. If this is not so, what is an easy way of getting 30 or so throw escapes? I appreciate any helpful response.

First off, welcome to the forum, and thanks for using search. I understand that some topics are not directly dealt with which makes the infor of them hard to find.

Guaranteed hit happens when you hit your opponent out of their recovery from any move. For example, suppose you block Akira's Double palm. The recovery on Double palm is 14 frames which means if you use a move that comes out faster than 14 frames(like a low punch or a high punch), Akira will get hit by it no matter what since he's still in recovery. What you want to know is your opponent's recovery frames and your move's execution frames.

About the throw escape quest, setting the difficult to standard will be of a help. Change the difficulty, and play it in the last arcade. When your throw counterable moves get blocked by CPU, it will most likely go for throws. Take a note that if you use a move that has a big recovery, CPU also goes for a garanteed hit instead of throws, so you might want to find out which ones are only throw counterable.

    Hope this helped.

I am so grateful for your gracious and considerate response. You have helped me immensely. I was originally hesitant to post because I thought I would be humiliated or flamed and you have thankfully vanquished my fears. Thanks again for making me feel welcomed.
