Gamezone's News Story - The most interesting thing about this news story is the paragraph about the online mode -

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Yes, for the first time in the series (the original game didn’t offer it), Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown will bring online play to the PlayStation Network. (It’ll be compatible with Xbox Live Arcade as well.) The game will introduce a great new matchmaking feature, where you won’t always be paired up against those who could thrash you in a heartbeat with the drunken Shun Di. Instead, it carefully examines your skill level and pairs you up against someone with an equal set-up, so you stand a better chance of winning the match. You’ll still have a fight on your hands, though, so be ready.</div></div>

I'm wondering what does it mean "compatible with Xbox Live Arcade as well"? Can we play each other on different platforms?

I'd be pretty neat to have cross platforming, but honestly as a PS3 player, I'm just glad to get an online mode.

Cross platform play is not going to happen. I'm pretty sure both Sony and Microsoft have clauses in their developer contracts that specifically forbid it. No game has ever had the feature, and it's likely no game ever will.

No game has ever had the feature so why would a low tier game like VF be the first?

The article section could have been worded a bit better but regardless it's meaning is obvious.

Are you saying VF is not as good as other games? [IMG]

Maybe your post should be worded better. [IMG]

The Author wrote the article about the PSN version. The reference obviously meant to say "there is an XBLA version of this game as well". It was worded poorly. VF is not a low tier game, but Gamezone is a low tier site. It's third rate and no name, there's a reason for that. Look at the quality and clarity of their articles. Instead of chasing smoke and making off the wall assumptions, why not email the author/site for clarification? That always works. Have a good day.

    Lol good one. [IMG]

I meant popularity-wise vf is low in the ladder so there's dozens of games that would get that feature well before VF did.
