So no alternate guard is available in training mode, just like VF5O? ;_; At least you can create up to three different recordings.

That was a great video Myke, you've done an excellent job there of showing the game off for promotion, but also giving first time players a good blueprint of how to get started with the game.

Once the game is released and all the character moves/strategy pages have been updated, I wonder if gamespot would let you extend the footage of showing virtuafighter.com, to add in you clicking on the VF Guide link, that takes you to a character's strategy guide.

But does anyone know if there is a glossy strategy guide(prima, etc) in the works for Final showdown? Or has download only made that less viable.

I've always liked having one lying around for fighting games, as an added tool to help me get interested in other characters, or allow a third person watching that doesn't play enough info to want to have a go.

Good vid! Kept me away from my studies for an extra 23 minutes.

Haven't heard about any new guides being released. I think there is a specific thread about that. You can always print some stuff from this site though if you must. Not glossy and maybe not colour but might still be helpful.

i'm not to pleased with the new throw system. they already made the game more accesible to newcomers by expanding the training mode(much better than vf5). they didn't need to water down the throw system. i like the wall system and potential for damage though.

It's not like there's a trainingmode in the arcades for which the game was built though so that point is pretty mute

I don't see the new throw system as watered down. Yutori and single throw escapes reduces the need for dexterity to play at a high level and emphasizes proper guessing and reading of your opponent.

dexterity is one thing that makes throw escapes rewarding.quick reflexes combined with knowing your opponents three most damaging throws isn't to hard. i think japanese players would agree with me on the throw system.
