According to Monte (arcade in Osaka) they'll be getting VF5R on July 18th so I guess this will be the final location test before the game officially rolls out. This location test will take place from June 25th (today) till July 1st, and will be held at Ikebukuro GIGO, Club Sega Akihabara, and Club Sega Nishi-Shinjuku. Once the location test is finished however, Nishi-Shinjuku will keep their VF5R machine until the launch of the game, while the other arcades will have theirs taken away. Booo.

I guess new info that's discovered from this test can be posted here?

If you scroll to the bottom, there are three links that I think are teasers of new moves/properties for VF5R...

The one to the left was very interesting...Kage's new throw!? Flips over opponent, using one leg to ten foot toss opponent...

edit: Looking at the other test location thread, I assume the "new" throw is the replacement of the old 10 foot toss.

...and how do they make these vids anyways? I heard the security in those arcades is like 9/11 on crack. I heard one story of a helpless victim who got his nice cellphone smashed to bits.

Correct assumption. This is the new /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif throw, which travels forward.

From the other teaser links it looks like Akira's bodycheck damage has been beefed up!? And Lion's is shown RO'ing someone over the (new) short fence after a slam combo.

Bodycheck beefed up!? I always thought the risk seemed a little off, until I found out it crumples on side-turned hit 100%....but still a little odd given the risk...

Finally I won't have to worry about being lured off the back of the arena by a Kage's TFT but now they are going to have to work their way towards me if they want that RO.

I would actually prefer a throw that has forward RO potential (e.g. Akira's TFT) than backwards (Kage's old TFT).

When fighting against Kage, you have a lot of power in preventing a RO from TFT -- simply backdash to the center of the ring and you're safe.

When fighting against Akira, on the other hand, under pressure of DEs, SDEs, single palms, etc. there's no easy way to get out of the RO if the Akira player is successfully pushing you towards the edge of the ring; you simply have to fight your way out.

From that perspective, Kage's RO potential (assuming he can combo just as well with the new TFT) will improve in VF5R.

P.S. Is it just me or does the new TFT not inflict any damage on its own (based on the animated gif)??

Since VF5R is "inheriting" the VF5 cards, I guess we might see some direct-feed replays soon??... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/confused.gif Correct me if I am wrong.

^Likely. Soon as in at least July 18th apparently.

Man, I doubt they'll drop console information shortly after the arcade release, but I'm still hoping we get confirmation one way or the other soon.

I guess the answer is the faq VF5R faq. You can create replay videos for Vs matches and "Knockout Trial R", but you cannot create replay vids for your AI-pupil.

Concerning VF5R console version announcement I guess we hafta to wait for E3 (July 14-17)

I hope it does come to consoles.

Although if it goes to the 360 as a brand new game what the hell will the achievements be?

Thats not a vid is it? I only see a static pic. And can't tell from that if its bodycheck or some other move or even a throw or ending of a combo. Damage looks big..

Doesn't look like bodycheck to me, unless they changed the animation... I think it could be 43p+g or one of his 64p+g moves, hasn't it already been confirmed that these moves changed somewhat?

I dunno, it does look like bodycheck to me but thats not all there is to it.. theres a similar bodycheck at the end of dragonlance as an example.. Or it could be a new or changed move or throw like Feck said.
