This is a revival of a post I wrote a very long time ago.
Many new players have joined this board and dedicated themselves hardcore since this was originally posted. (Shou, Maddy, KTD, cappo, Imf, dandy j, smurf fu, CTFnyc, nam/super-G, Dre, Raider/Netrom, Dobi, and so on.)

It isn't a very significant post, just for my own personal curiousity & enjoyment.
I`d like for the young guns especially to let me know which players in this country
(or outside) give you the most problems. When I say players I mean human, not character.
Your most FIERCE OPPONENTS and why. Oh yeah, have fun with this thread, that's
what it's here for. /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif
That is all.

Myke.

I clearly can't hang. Perhaps evo2k4. But so far...ouch.

Bigboy.

Anyone who's played him more than a few matches knows that he adapts so well & quickly that matches can be hard to come by if you can't manage to confuse him. And invariably you (or me) are more easily confused than he is. Show up at the house if you don't believe me.

Obviously NOT me, since I reckon I've taken about 4 rounds in the Troc ever.

Still, I'm working on it.

Around scandinavia my most fierce opponent is Raider ofcourse. In Sweden it would be Lau.VF and KiwE.

It scares me how many matches of VF we've probably played from VF3tb through to Evo, probably well over a thousand times. It's probably 80% in his favour as well, so...always something to aspire to.

It's evolved from Akira v Jacky -> Goh v Wolf -> Kage v Lei.

I haven’t played VF for that long, but I have still played against many people that give me trouble. Hopefully I’ll give them some trouble in the future. /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Scandinavia:

Guttiyuki: Always a pain in the ass, I really have to work for my wins against him.
Raider: Knows all of my patterns and reads my every thought easily…that can’t be good.
Lau.VF: I never know what he pulls out next, like Gutti really hard to play against.

USA:

Jerky: I did not understood how I should attack him; I never got a MC on him. Read me like an open book.

AdamYUKI: Could barely touch him, I was lucky if got 10% of his life bar. I learned a lot from playing him, and my Jeff is doing pretty well in Shanghai…

GHETTO-Shun: Like AdamYuki, I never knew what hit me. Threw everything I got at him, but nothing happened.

Konju-Akira: I think we had very similar playing style, it felt strange playing against him.
He was always a couple of frames faster that me. I learned a lot about Akira after playing against him.

Kazu: Read me like an open book, I just don’t have enough knowledge about VF to beat him.

CREWTW: WTF just happened…?

Shanghai:

Diegame Webmaster: I just feed tokens to the machine. Super cool guy.

Akira dude: Best player I have ever played against. The stuff he does is just AWESOME. And his yomi is fucking unbelievable. My Akira improves by just watching him play.

Stupid Chinese Jacky: Biggest VF fuck I have ever met. After he had fucked me up 20-0 I went over and said “Good games†or something like that, and he just walked away.He can play VF, but what a fuckhead. That guy pisses me off.

There are probably a few others too, but these guys are the ones popping into my head.

Almost everybody with decent vs experience. Why the fuck is there no VF community in Denmark anymore /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif Oh right, because there are no decent arcades and not a SINGLE VF4 machine...
Playing alone sucks.

Oftopic, I know:

Yo mate; join and talk more with the other nordic players. We have a pretty strong community between finland / norway and sweden now but denmark is never represented /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

A big gathering is perhaps on the way aswell - probably in Oslo. Where in Denmark do you live exactly? Some of us live in the South of Sweden etc.

Pop bye VFToday (more a nordic page then a Swedish) and just say "Hi" to some peeps @ http://oguo.campus.luth.se/ (click link to the upper right that says vftoday).

Ohyeah; my 'Fierce Opponent' would prob be Nybec and I intend on kicking Raiders ass this summer to represent Brad for all those without faith. "Fuck Muay Thai!" © Ong-Bak

Being fairly new to human competition, most players give me fits. Mainly because of the great differences in style.

Basically, everyone I play in CTF gave me and still gives me trouble. (except for this one guy who plays Lau with just 2 to three moves /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

We both have the same approach to the game as well as a similar skill set so the matches are grueling affairs where we are guessing several steps ahead of normal vs matches with other opponents. Plus, he will turn into super machi ninja against me. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

MY FIERCE OPPONENTS:

Me, Myself, I. b/c my freaking sticks skillz need more masturbation practice. That's what happens when you try to get something at out during game time & you're trying so hard that you're like it should've came out but Blah /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Lex and Rock_Joe, from Montreal, are improving at the speed of light. Fagan, from Moncton, was my nemesis, but different towns, different times. And that leaves Myke... The bastard's too good! Fun times /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

If I had to list my fierce opponents, in no specific order, it would be
--Kazu--, for his air tight offense.
--adamYUKI--, for his air tight defense.
--Cappo--, for his creative mix up game.
--Maddy--, for his intense rush down style of play.
--Imf--, for his stepping and movememt abilities.
--shou-- for the amazing display of machi known nationwide as SHOUTIME. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
--And lastly, Raider/myke for their EXTRAORDINARALLY CHEAP kage
tactics.

Both styles pulled straight from the japanese.
One with an aussie twist. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The other tweaked, norwegian style. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif
That is all.

My list is as follows:
Maddy: I play against him all the time and takes the game very seriously, very good, and loves to kill him some sticks /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Cappo: Gayest Pai I think I've ever seen, but in a way that I've only see him do, plus he's the man known as the Capn /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif
GhettoSHUN: Needs to change his name :p but his play style clashes with mine I think more than AdamYUKI's even, plus, Vanessa............ /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif.............jk, not no more but at the time it was like o_O trying to figure that shit out.
IMF and Blond1: Only got to face Blond once and IMF twice but I can understand that they are both very dedicated in their practices.

All I got is Bloodblaze to trade rounds with, although I've been able to go even with Akai on occasion. He's just too nice of a guy to really be a 'fierce' opponent though.

Now me and Bloodblaze...we mix it up and talk trash the whole time, till the game's over. He's my opposite /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

After this coming event I will proably have to repost but out of my experience I'd have to say Maddy and KTD gave me the most problems. There style of Akira playing boosted me to a new level of VF'dom that I hope to live up to

UK...

ryan H / Tsuujin - only ever beaten that guy once... one of those playstyles i can never ever adapt to. and i definatley dont play him enough.

daisuke / Genjin - defense and patience is so pressurizing

delune - plays well with every character.

columbo jacky - only dedicated jacky over here, and would be a real fight to ever top.

vosor - sometimes he just gets a limit break and is really tough to get a hit!..

archangel - aaaaaugh!!!!!! ---------- pai dont need an explanation.^^

those are my toughest to beat anyhow
