evading properties

    What is the general consensus on lei-fei's evade moves. I don't find i like them to well. DM is solid if opponent is not blocking. But seems to leave no advantage. What are the properties of OM and DM? OM seems to leave me at a disadvante, but a large part of that is my long pause to see if it worked or not. Still,though it feels like the opponent recovers before lei stands up from his little gut punch on OM punch. Then i watch the archive built into the game, and the lei fei vids are OM heavy. (Also he seems to lose all his matches, what is that? Lei getting slapped down excellent style in his own theater...suspect). Well sorry for all the typos i've been polluting my posts with, i'm typing these on nintento wii internet with the remote and it's a beast to get right : )

    Why aren't you at work? You better just be on lunch break young man. And did you get the messages I sent you? You will see a flashing envelope under my stuff, click on it you fool.

    And the DM is pretty good, its all about options off of it. You are in doku so obviously you can go 2k (down kick) for jab stagger into launch kick ect.....Or if your opponents block low, use k+g for a stagger kick out of doku followed by your choice. Or you could cancel (G) and go 9 (upforward) k+g on duck blocking opponent and go for max damage combo. Against evading opponents you can cancel to a throw, or delay then use previous options. Or you can do dm move press R1 (this is a combo and will override thier evade --i think) and then follow it up with a sweep kick to duck high combos and nerf evades. (also after dm you can just do the big sweep off of it to take care of evades or standing block.)

    Really social ruin, it is all choices and mixing up your attacks. This is where the black and white end, and the mind games begin. Take for instance, my matches with VF5935, we are no longer just fighting eachother, we are fighting eachothers tendencies. Literally our exchanges have evolved over time. In our first match dm and duck kick was good enough, then k+G then cancel into throw, etc..... hope i didn't confuse you, b/c then you'll get upset and break your new stick, and we dont' want that.

    lei fei has alot of moves with evading or other special properties 3P+Kor 9P+K(good against low punch spammers),from doku 2K+G(8K+G), his K and 6K from ura kokoshiki can avoid low punch if they use at a certain distance .ura nehan shiki has 2k and K+Gto avoid low attacks. im sure 8kk can avoid linear and rising attacks as well if timed right.I know there r others moves but I dont remember.

    I use DM P+K alot less than when I started playing VF 5. I'd rather create different follow-ups afterwards such as getting a side-crumple from /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif under certain conditions. But more recently I've been lazily going for side grabs.

    But after DM P+K I either:
    <ul>[*]Stay in Doku & wait for the opponent to /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (usually /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif) if he has been spamming during the match[*]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif cancel into a grab. also try /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif if your opponent is gonna evade. [*] go for a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif stagger. this can be beaten out so its safer to execute on a counter hit[*] use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. a quick attack its one of my fave lei moves[/list]

    as a side note I never use dm /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. dont know why though . its not bad or anything /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

    can u elaborate on the side crumple from evade? Exactly how to? Also, when ya evade with up/down & p+k+g is it preferable to use the OM p shown in dojo, or take that big sidestep and aim for normal combos/moves. Also, thanks for the input. smb, you need to try joystick, inputs quicker.

    Well, after a successful evade (one where your character screams as a note to let the world know you successfully evaded an attack) you may find yourself on the side of you opponent. Execute /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif and the opponent should crumple if the conditions are right.

    As far as OM goes i personally dont use it at all; The few good ways of using it from my knowledge are to get behind your opponent if they are going to use a rising kick, or to track your opponent after they tech roll. Maybe someone can help me here?

    Doku /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif works for a side crumple as well

    i hardly use dm pk try switching stances to g and throw or better roll from doku for a catch throw or k for combo if they r very defensive
