Dural Scans

I was at the Gamespot Forums, when this kid posted a really cool magazine scan of Dural.

If I see it correctly, the stone Dural is crushed to pieces on her game over screen. I wonder what happens to the other ones. The invisible one could just detonate herself (predator ). But seriously do you think some people would actually want to use her i.e. on tournaments? Would that be even possible/allowed?

I have seen dural in its metal form, the dark matter metal form and in stone form so far. Some of the combos it does are pretty darn strong. Too many air juggles for my liking.

 

Dural is strong, but she's at least not as horrific as Alpha 152 in DOA4. But I found a pattern to beat her when I played as Pai. I just kept using the Jumping Scissor Kick (UF+Kick). If it hit her, I'll do it again. If she blocks it, she'll then try to grab you. But Pai will be just out of range, so she'll miss. You can then grab her for a throw after this. Rinse, repeat.

Anyway, I read somewhere (it may be here in the forum as well) that Dural is playable after you beat the Arcade mode with all characters (no need to beat Dural); just not sure in what modes exactly.

 

With lei fei, just keep doing P+P+P, she'll block it, but you are still moving her back. Keep doing it until she is pushed off the ring.

But seriously, the invisible Dural looks freaking awesome. But, i'm curious, why did sega decide to use a lot of Akira's moves in her?

 

Because Akira's moves look cool ?

 

Akira's moves sound freaking scary. Everytime he hits you it's like a thunderclap. Boss sounds.

 

I feel that Lei Fei's moves are more superior, more damaging than Akira's Elbow, Shoulder attacks.

 

any truth to this? I have not tired this yet as I've been playing a lot of quest mode...

 

Well, I've finished Arcade Mode with all 17 fighters, but I wasn't able to defeat Dural in all of them. She isn't playable yet, so perhaps there's something else to be done...

 

Perhaps it has something to do with beating time attack? Or maybe its an item you get in quest mode.

 

You've missed a character. She should be playable in vs mode and training mode iirc..

 

So the method really is just beating the game with all characters, even if you don't defeat dural?

Dural combos are wacky as hell.

 

The pair of Japanese dudes from the original Dural scans picture are wacky as hell, too. But they don't actually say how to play as her, there's only advertising ("You can use Dural!!", "all four versions are playable", "of course there's movelist, too!" ... stuff like that).

Dural's the best fighting game boss, ever. And, hey, she's got Goh's kick!

Of course, she will be banned from use at tournaments anyway, right?

Well I confirmed that Dural is, indeed, unlocked by beating arcade with all characters. I used default settings, but im not sure if that makes a difference.

But I don't know how to get the other two costumes for her. Right now only outfit A (silver) and outfit C (clear/translucent) are selectable. Perhaps theres something more to this.
