    i was just wondering,

what do you guy's think about the idea of speacalizing in two characters with simalar styles to improve your game with both.

any idea's for pairs or even threesomes that have playing styles that compliment each other .

    (P.S. i'm a newb who plays aoi.) /versus/images/icons/cool.gif

    no.

what i meant was if people wanted to pick up 2 characters which 2 would they pick.

example: picking wolf and pia would be stupid because the are totally opposite.

Well, just pick characters with similar styles - like Pai and Lau or Wolf and Jeff.

I practice with all the characters because it is the fastest way to learn all their moves and throws.
I'm not stupid enough to expect to get good with all of them (or even with one of them /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif) but I think it is a good way to improve your overall game and stick technique, at least at the beginner level.

Well said, IMHO this makes you learn the basics for several characters which again means that you can progress and learn more advanced stuff quite rapidly.
My first six months with Virtua Fighter I only played with Kage-Maru, and because I was new to the game and didn’t have any past experience, I ended up playing after a certain pattern.
So it was easy for my opponents to predict what I was going to do in different situations, so to change this I started practicing a bit with several characters.
While doing this I taught a whole lot more basic stuff about the game and I also discovered the different advantaged and disadvantage that the different characters get in different situations.
So all in all it made me a better Kage player

Well, I do mine differently. I master it with one character(throughly) than I master it with another. THis is in Kumite mode. In vs. i am a lot netter than anyone else so i use what they tell me to and eventually I know the basics for every one
