A convenient feature to have would be the ability to create tables in posts. The list tags aren't able to serve this purpose, nor are the alignment tags. With the latter, if I were to, say, left align one group of text and center align another in an effort to create columns, the result will be that the left aligned text will be on one line and the center aligned text on a line below it. Are there any plans to provide a UBBCode to accomodate this purpose?

Any and all consideration would be much appreciated, and I am enjoying the upgrades to this site that have been made thus far.

I'd really like this feature too, not sure if it's possible to add to the forums though.

Forum markup for tables is a feature that I haven't seen implemented in any forum software. If you know of any in use, let me know!

The reason why I think it hasn't been implemented (or not commonly implemented) is because of the complexity of validating the table syntax.

Doing a straight-up replacement of [table], [tr] and [td] tags with the HTML equivalent is simple enough, but you need to introduce some validation to ensure the user doesn't inadvertently break the forum since the forum relies heavily on tables for it's own structure (a design I personally loathe, but that's another story).

If I ever have the time, and just for the challenge, I may look into trying to implement this feature myself. Just don't hold your breath though [IMG]
