If you disconnect the ps3 pcb completely, those will work.

yea I don't need a dual PCB mod. But okay they will work, will I have to do any soldering myself or are the wires to the buttons and sticks connected some other way?

I'm a total dunce when it comes to this.

For the buttons you could ask him to attach quick disconnects, these are pieces of metal that will fit over the prongs of the buttons. The joystick wires (if the pcb is common ground) will need to be connected, you can use a little plasic thing where you screw the two wires together (I forget the name). If the pcb isn't common ground like the official controller you will have to solder wire to the joystick. I don't have a VSHG so this answer may be completely wrong!

Just an addition, if the pcb isn't common ground (which it probably is not), you'd have to cut the ground traces on the joystick circuit board.
