    Let's not forget that:

    • Before Virtua Fighter no one had ever seen authentic looking Bajiquan Kung Fu moves in a video game
    • Before Virtua Figher no one had ever seen smooth flowing realistic looking Jeet Kun Do moves in a video game
    • Before Virtua Fighter no one had ever seen the elegant and graceful moves of Shaolin Kung Fu in a video game
    • Before Virtua Fighter no one had ever seen anything close to bonafide Drunken Master Kung Fu in a video game
    • Before Virtua Fighter no one had ever seen a legtimately depicted Monkey Kung Fu in a video game
    • Before Virtua Fighter no one had ever seen smooth flowing hair, clothing, sleeves, garments on a fighter in a video game
    • Before Virtua Fighter no one had ever seen 2 different looking martial arts interacting in realtime and in 3 dimensions in a video game

Prior to Virtua Fighter all the characters were simple 2D Sprites (Graphical Bitmaps) that were clunky with no real smooth animated 3 Dimensional movement or presence. Virtua Fighter changed all of this.

The realism, authenticity, and believability of martial arts movements had never been seen in an arcade video game. It all started in the Virtua Fighter series.(y) The realistic movement of clothing, hair, and attached accessories on a fighter in a video game all started in the Virtua Fighter series.

At the time Virtua Fighter was released this kind of authenticity, realism, and believability had never been seen or even though possible in a fighting game ever!:holla:

    • Its too bad that a beautiful, elegant, quasi realistic presentation of martial arts in a video game is no longer good enough for the FGC
    • Its too bad that smooth flowing clothing, hair, and accessories attached to the fighters is no longer good enough for the FGC
    • Its too bad that the beauty of the stages in combination with the elegance of the characters is no longer good enough for the FGC

Now instead of marveling over authentic and quasi-realistic martial arts in our fighting games, we cheer for the absurd, bombastic over-the-top crush-kill-destroy fighting animations. We now beg for character movements that have virtually no basis in reality whatsoever. In 2024 we look forward to the most strange, weird and peculiar fighting animations possible. The more outrageous and outlandish the move and animation the more we crave to see it.

I see some in the community are calling for large character rosters in VF6. Well what legitimate martial arts will all of those new characters have:confused:? The current Virtua Fighter roster is only missing a few legitimate styles.:cautious: Too many new characters will introduce bogus martial arts styles which ultimately lead to nonsense animations

I truly hope the designers of the next Virtua Fighter resist this current trend in phantasmagoric super-fiend brute-force-combat-animations and take us back to the authentic, quasi-realistic and believable depictions of legitimate martial arts that the Virtua Fighter series in known for.;)

Before Virtua Fighter, no one had ever seen, foot prints appearing in the snow, in a 3d fighting game.:holla:

Iirc, Virtua Fighter was the 1st fighting game to add commentary. Imho, this was better than SF6's.

Yes it was. And I agree, it does sound better than SF6 commentary.
