Does anyone know where i can find them, if there are any, for the Ps3. Play-asia only has the Ball-type and over the years, ive come to prefer the "baseball bat" sticks.

Also, ive never really bought sticks exept for a mad cats one which was too small, and like all madcats products ive bought, shorted out rather quick. From what ive read, you guys seem to prefer hori sticks, but what are other sticks like in comparsion.

there is probably a thread that goes over this stuff already, since it is a basic question that everyone asks at one point or another so if you feel like pointing me towards the thread, that would be helpful too.

The only sticks I know of with that type of joystick are the Interact ShadowBlade, the X-Arcade, and some MAS sticks. I wouldn't really recommend any of those sticks for VF, though. I'm not even sure if the ShadowBlade and X-Arcade are still available.

The x arcade stick is baseball bat type, and they say they are making an adapter for ps3, but not out yet.

If you want to try, Sanwa sells bat top joysticks that can replace the ball top that you dislike.

Here is a pic of a bat top on an HRAP2...

Might want to try that out... now this is just my opinion/experience... but I feel that the setup that is pictured feels much more comfortable for me than MAS/X-Arcade/SF Anniversary type sticks... performance wise at least. But then again it's just a regular Sanwa stick with a bat top instead of a ball lol.

There are a bunch of threads about sticks in the PS2 VF4EVO, the threads are right at the top of the screen. If you could mod a stick you would want a Happ Ultimate Comp in it. Thats what they use in the US arcade VF machines.

If you are not going to mod I would suggest trying to get a just bat stick like one of the guys mentioned. I hope the ball screws off of my VSHG, I am used to play VF in US arcades.

I don't think there are any real good makers of sticks in the US, most of them are garbage. I think you will have to mod a stick you buy to get that US arcade feel. Maybe get a hori fighting stick 3, rip out the PCB and make your own, if the Happ Ultimate won't fit inside the case.

Thats a real cherry lookin' stick, MarkMan. That would be my recommendation if you need a bat-style stick.

Wow thanks. i did not expect so much help so fast. this is probably one of the better forums help-wise. most other are filled with elitists and A-Holes. I can honestly say that ive only seen 2 posts by an elitist/A-hole.

I diddnt think about Moding a stick, but the Hori stick pictured looks beautiful. I might give it a go when i get a stick.

MarkMan, do you have a link to a place that sells those Sanwa parts?

There are a lot of good information threads/posters on this link here:

    http://forums.shoryuken.com/forumdisplay.php?f=177

Also check the Akihabara Shop thread on that same forum if you're planning on ordering Sanwa parts... the next order deadline is this coming Friday.

You can also check their Trading Outlet forum as there are quite a few stickmakers on their forums and people always sell arcade parts from time to time...

for me personally (and this is no way a professional opinion but just personal) :

I find that bat-sticks such as Happs and many US sticks to need extra motion to complete joystick motions. I find their gates to be wider + slimmer stick = the player needs to make wider movements to complete moves

With a a Sanwa gate + ball top, I feel that I do less movements with my arms and mainly only use my wrist for and fingers for motions making it faster on respone

    but that's just me

The Japanese style sticks (ball and shaft) are better IMO. If you devoted yourself to it, you probably could get used to using one. It is a little hard to switch after you've gotten used to one kind, though.
