Akira item bug?

So I'm going through kumite with my Akira, and after the match that promoted me to Champion, I see a little treasure box... what the hell is that? I wonder to myself, cause as far as I know I have most of the items that are not kumite-specific... so i go and check, and it's the Conqueror emblem... yet I'm not a Conqueror yet by any stretch... my win rating IS high enough to eventually get there, but I just found that kinda odd...

Incidentally, for an item that requires you to rise so high in kumite, the Conqueror emblem is pretty lame.. ah well.

The item is a Haoh sign on his back
Champion rank = Haoh rank in Japanese version

 

i dont like Akira, but my dad does abd he wants to know how to get some Head-gears? /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

 

None of the items in evo requires you to be at a certain rank to obtain it. So that's not a bug.
