A Jeffry Ring Out Technique

What is this?

This post is meant to discuss a "forgotten" Jeffry ring out technique that pwned in the original VF4 but nerfed in the subsequent versions. This is another of Jeffry's obscure techniques surprisingly few people know about.

So how do you do it?

The idea is very simple. . .when you are back against the edge of the ring, your opponents will be wary of your d/b+P+G throw. So how do you ring them out? Either do b,f+P or f+P+K to crumple them as they do a feeble attempt to escape d/b+P+G. (When they have your Jeff against the ring's edge, they will do anything but block.) THEN do d+P+G a ground throw which will send them flying out of the ring. To do this after f+P+K, you input your ground throw immediately. After b,f+P, you have to wait slightly.

Gotchas?

This technique used to absolutely PWN in the original VF4, when the ground throw was not escapable. And whenever you ring out people this way people would be pissed off so bad. (Insert an evil Jeffry laugh here.) Then EVO came out and ground throws became escapable, but you still had 50/50 chance to win the round using this technique. Then VF5 came out and they again change his ground throw so that everyone who knows jack about Jeffry would escape d+P+G in a situation like this.

(Clearly, there is no reason whatsoever to do d/f+P+G throw after crumple when you can do much more damage than that.)

So why go for it?

Well, it may still work against those who have never seen this technique. (which are surprisingly many.) Also in a walled stage, this technique can be an alternate way to start d/b+P+G throw combos against the wall. It used to be such an essential technique in VF4. While this technique has been nerfed, still an interesting idea to keep in your repertoire.

This same idea works for Wolf as well.

And don't forget, MC Threat /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif works for this as well.

Jeffry's ring out game:

Aside from basic combos that push great distances (i.e. MC /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif>/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif>/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif>/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif), Jeffry has many great tools that ring out opponents.

Throws

Rings out to Jeffry's Back

*/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif is a no brainer, as Jeffry grabs his opponent and swings them away (towards his back). But a nice trick for this throw, when using it away from the edge, is to train your opponent to just block after it by using /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif or half-circular. When you make then rely on /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, dash in and use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, which went used with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, the ring out range is huge.

*/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif can ring out your opponent if your back is close the ring's edge and they escape. Setting up a stomach crumple and using /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif will probably never happen in a real match, but if you land it, it'll pwn.

Rings out to Jeffry's stomach

*/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif works at the range of the border of the ring's perimeter (like his old /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif), and can even ringout if they escape (if the range permits) like here (last round) but he gets rungout :)53) here. This may seem random, but when an opponent escapes /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, Jeffry is pushed in the direction of the opponent's back.
^reposted from my Jeffry Move Encyclopedia thread

*/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif doesn't have very good range, but it looks really cool.

Moves that ring out over short walls (range dependent)

I guess it rely depends on whether or not the opponent knows what they're doing (lol at the Vanessa).

The only ring out overwalls that I ever got were knees on counter hit and the 33+P uppercut. It helps to push them by comboing even if its just PPP
