    Sup All,
I was recently laid-off from my job about a week ago, and i was wondering what would be the best steps in order to obtain a new position. Specifically, I was wondering if I should try a staffing agency on a temp-to perm basis, or should I try to get a recruiter to help me specifically in my field of expertise. I know most you are grown adults /versus/images/icons/tongue.gif and would possibly have some information that would be of use to me. Again, I would be most appreciative for any and all advice given. Oh yea, has to be NYC based because I have a family. Again, thanks to all and I really appreciate it.

So you bought Video games for Virgin Entertainment. Well I'm guessing its a Retail position or possibly sales. In my past history I haven't had too much luck with the internet at all. A lot of companies overlook online apps. Online is a VERY passive avenue for a job position, and most companies give the guy thats in the office or calling daily the job. If anything use Moster.com to see who is hiring and approach directly. Not online. Annoy them. =).

sorry I missed your post... check out: www.jobs4wallst.com my little site. check out wwwstany.org go to recruiter links and contact them also. each and everyone. I will be in office until 6:30PM tonight. call me or email there for dialog. BO has good advice below. BO suggests: "calling daily the job". Studies show IT TAKES 12 CALLS TO LAND A JOB ON AVERAGE... /versus/images/icons/blush.gif sorry about the shouting... find a job opening posted ( see my PM) then go to their web site and find contact. Do not respond to resume@whateverco.com find the right person. email them follow-up with telephone call to close for cup of coffee at very /versus/images/icons/smile.gif least good luck. very tough market in all sectors. /versus/images/icons/frown.gif
