I tested. If you delay the [img][img][img][img]+[img] input for a fraction (you can just delay pressing P+K), the throw connects to all characters...
The string is interruptable anyway to my knowledge. So worrying about 'being open' makes little sense.
Those wallcombos are just much more consistent in R and walls are closer in some cases. (or at least thats what it looks like)
