    ggs to...

VFnumbers - i have been playing a few different lei players recently and i was always a sucker for being hit by his low kick from his high stance (the one that staggers) I noticed you hardly ever did that at all. i was always preparing myself for those. its tough for me when we are at a distance. but thats not exactly akira`s strong point.

UKdiddy - played you on two different occasions recently, the 1st session i got whooped! the 2nd session i must admit was laggy and i noticed you missing those knees with kage after a missed sweep from pai. i think i did play better that time but also you were losing out on lots of good damage opportunity's through to lag.

AyaSempia - nice playing your jacky. you started taking games back when you played more abare. i used to be really scared of jacky`s but im getting more familar with him after playing the likes of jorjo and corey fearless. shun is still too scary /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

PantherNeoGeo - getting some unusual matches with you lately, if i see you as anyone besides aio im like hmm thats new lol. ggs those goh vs jeffery matches were rather amusing i thought

Good games to CF white worm, Morphost, Happy friend lau and everyone else i played today.

HFL: Why did you leave after such a short set? Is it because i stayed away from you until the time ran out? I wasnt intentionally doing that i was just trying to get some room. But once i saw you kept back dashing i figured you just gave up and left. Sorry if thats why you left. We had a good connection so I figured that wasnt the reason...

Sry aya, I just kinda got annoyed with runaway Jacky technique and Beat knuckle spam so I was just gonna move on.

I kind of have different ideas of what constitutes a "fun game" these days and dealing with keep away stuff as Jeff requires me to play more defensively and carefully than I care to.

I actually didnt really use beat knuckle that much. Ive cut back ALOT from how i used to use it. Im so sick and tired of people not playing me because they say i run away. Its fucking annoying as shit. I stayed away from you because you were beating my stuff out and i wanted to practice spacing and stuff. Whatever man. I guess its to be expected that i cannot improve because players wont play me for longer than 2 games =\

Good games to social ruin not to long ago and good games to Zym Dragon and Denkai earlier. I guess denkai isnt one to give help to those in need lol. Either way man. Fun games(At least for me anyway) Im glad i got to steal a few from you

Oh yeah i almost forgot. Good games to The fuechA(or something like that) Awesome akira man, Sorry for the piss poor gameplay though. I will do better next time hopefully!

That 2nd session, you definetely got me. It was a bit laggy and I was missing some stuff, but I could definetely tell through that lag that even if we were playing offline, you would've been layin my ass out. You were in the zone that day, and that's why I really like your pai, because it's so aggressive. I felt some of your akira aggressiveness in your pai, and it was really working for you, so good stuff.

Wait, people not playing you is annoying, or your running away is annoying? I'd say that they probably both are. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

When you run away vs. my Jeff, you are out of range to be hit or thrown. I have to dash at you which puts me at risk. I don't want to rush at you and attack when close enough because if you are waiting for that, you have the advantage to hit me. And there is a good chance that you backdash again and I would miss an attack which is the worst position to be in in VF.

Jeff doesn't have strings like Jacky where you don't even have to worry about whiffing early hits cuz they go on and are safe to varying degrees. So anyway, from my perspective, dealing with runaway Jacky as Jeff is just more trouble than it is worth. It's annoying as hell.

If you really want to improve your game, either switch to someone like Jeff without much gimmicky shit to exploit for cheap wins, or just play Jacky without using crutches like the quasi broken beat knuckle->kick or runaway tactics.

I'm not trying to be a jerk here; I am just explaining what it is like to deal with the stuff. The core of VF is really cool, but there is a lot of stuff that has been added to over the years which can allow players to almost avoid the normal, guessing strategies and timing skills that I would call the heart of the game. So I try and avoid those games more and more because they are more frustrating than anything else.

ggs to happyfriend lau. U definitely have some skills man. Right now Jeffry is a bottleneck to ur game. It feels like his tools are limiting u applying ur tools. But that won't last too long if u keep playing him. From what i could see, u are seriously CLOSE to turning the corner and being a beast with him. I just read ur last post and feel bad now, cause a lot of our game was played at an unusually long range for our match up. I don't know. It kinda felt like ur play a style creates a lot distance. Of course, i'm only basing this on about 30 minutes of play, so i could be wrong. Well, more appropriately, i think we both liked to back dash and create distance in similar situations. This effectively jumped us out of mid range (or skipped it altogether) and put us in long range. Something that would try and be fun to manipulate next time we play...ya know...if i didn't just point it out /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

On a side note: I don't think most people realize just how little they have to improve to become dramatically stronger. Whether it is a TE, or a crouch fuzzy, or slightly better oki, etc. Sometimes one small thing can make a world of difference in ur success. Disclaimer, after a year my defense still sucks, lol.

AyaSempai, try not to get discouraged. If u look at his post i think u may see a lot of the same things i was telling u about jacky. -->The core of VF is really cool, but there is a lot of stuff that has been added to over the years which can allow players to almost avoid the normal, guessing strategies and timing skills that I would call the heart of the game<-- that is the same thing i was saying about Jacky being a strange matchup in the fact u largely have to wait for him to come to u, and then take what damage u can get if u block right. Most players really want to force their own offensive mixups, not react to their opponents and then wait to do so again and again with less than usual chances to do so themselves. But all that being said, u shouldn't apologize for playing this way. This is one of jacky's strengths. U already play a moderately offensive jacky, and i don't suggest u tailor ur game too much to ur opponents wishes (short of not abusing dm pk or 2p /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif ) Just know that playing jacky is more of an ordeal for most people than playing other characters. I feel a lot of your pain. I have experienced the same thing to a slightly lesser extent as a lei user.

excuse Me but YOU Were the one backdashing X 1000. Thats your fault and your problem. Im sorry you dont like my playstyle but im not changing how i play because someone doesnt like it. Im not going to roll over and let you win either because it makes you feel better. I already know im not very good at the game. I played denkai last night and won a total of 2 maybe 3 games out of 11. The rest he pretty much beat my face in. My apologizes for you not being able to adjust your game and beat my "cheap moves" That i hardly use. Go be "happy" Friend....

Social ruin: Im not getting discouraged. I find a playstyle i can work with and then i get condemned for it. Im getting annoyed and frustrated with these "good players" Who look down on how im playing. Whatever, They have a problem with it. Stick to the trend and dont play me anymore...

    Word.

On a side note Jeffry's 66pp and 3k are totally beast for ranged attacks.

Learn the game, learn the attacks, learn how to deal with them, and learn how to use them.

Chibiaya, just so you know I believe you on what you said above.

btw, if you get condemned for your playing style, don't worry about it. The only thing you should really be worried about is if it's viable in offline play, and that you can tell the difference. That's all that matters. Do what would work in offline play, and if something is only working because it's played online in bad connections leave the match or stop using it, because it forms a bad habit of something that doesn't actually work - or has a much bigger whole than you think.

That's why the frame knowledge is a good thing to know for your playing, at the sametime that can also hold you back offline too if you could actually get away with something retarded offline, but it's still a bad habit to pick up, you might end up running into someone that does not fall for a single setup.

Other than that, your playing style is not supposed to be a carbon copy of someone else anyway, that's what's really good about VF. It's such free form.

And even if it is a carbon copy, why not use it if it works anyway?
