Good Games Thread

I literally have no competition outside of online. Its all I have. That and no one in the surrounding areas play VF. I would have to go up to NY/VA all the time if i wanted to play offline. Which wouldnt happen. So I'm stuck with this online gameplay. I have 0 defense. I try but i eat too many throws and then when i try to counter eating the grab I eat MORE grabs and get counter hit so i just get frustrated. I dont really have much of an offense either because it always gets picked apart so idk. I dont really know where to go with this game... Thanks for the matches though.

I think I've said this before but I find the best way to defeat Flamingo is to just get hit by it and get knocked down. It sounds crazy but it works for me.

 

I thought our connection was really good last night especially for someone from west coast. If I compared it to someone from NY it would be better then Adam's

 

if ever you have a full weekend and some space in your house (as well as food), why don't you host a session??? i'm sure there are some philly cats or new york cats who would be willing to travel to battle and help improve your/their game(s)... hell, if i was still in b-more right now, i'd prolly be traveling myself... im family-manning it up like guile right now, and i'm transferring soon, so i can't... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif

and expect mistakes online... lag will always be a bitch and it will never go away... i know sometimes i have issues breaking throws in some matches, or doing a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif cancel into a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif with JE...

I did one evade and then something came out about defence attack??@@ I don't really remember what I did and I think that was an accident, but is that possible after one successful evade and we can do P+K+G right away to create another offensive move?
I'm curious~

 

I remember reading somewhere Dennis, it may have been the book that comes with the game, that you can succesfully evade and then do OM, like hit checking in order to see that you evaded succesfully.

Take it one step further there as well. U can go to the dojo and do Evade, Throw escape, OM!!!!!!!!!!!!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif You sure can. I was even inputting (attempting to input) 2 Throw escapes and still succeeding an OM. Again in dojo. Pretty neat, but i don't know that it is really feasible in game.

Good games to Happyfriend lau. Though you figured me out after playing for a while. It was fun to play with you. I think that was the best I have ever done vs you. I was practicing fuzzy guarding but you kept throwing me anyway. I dont know if you notice but i added a few new mixups to my game. Im not quite sure if they are good or not but bleh. Im trying... Not true i learn how to play VF5 online before offline and i have talent all around me in NYC.Unlike Most people i missed the whole EVO experience and i had to learn 5 on the fly through many ass whupping lol!! IF you are not taking any from your loses or battles then its something really wrong.


One things for Sure you necessarily don't have to fight your way out of disadvantages. Take your time and access the damage. Some fighters(Players) work better on disadvantages and suck when face man to man or toe to toe lol!! Its better to fight standing then Lying down. Don't be afraid to slow the game down.

AyaSempai VFDC: Had fun playing you last night, but I just wasn't as focused as I should have been. Your Jacky is fun to fight.

SDS Overfiend: You you sure know to punish my mistakes with Brad. I'll have to remember to attack more against Brad next time. Thanks for the tips!

Gentlemen Thief: Thanks for the games. Seemed close for the first 8 matches. Those reversals must have annoyed you though. When you adjusted and did that low sabaki move, I didn't know what to do. I'll figure something out for next time.

^Nah, the reversals didn't annoy me, I was just trying to get you to stop using Pai's 3P. Just throw an elbow if you see it : P. GGs.

GGs to Panther, Aya and everybody else.

 

GG's to you also Zym Dragon. You have to sometimes interrupt Brad Phase Turn and Slipping. Switch up Strats a little and don't fall in love with 2P as a set up.

 

Denkai showed me that that doesn't work on characters like Jeffry, the 2P hits anyway.

Also I've found that you can get 2P's to whiff up for Jacky if you're in open stance(which is what I try to stay in most of the time). </div></div>

I'm pretty good at beating 2p and hardly took issue with characters. I generally try to attack at maximum range most of the time. Especially with moves like 46k+g where I can usually counter attack someone out of range for a throw. Good stuff.

GGs to Kahn Rahn, ZANMATOOO, GodEater VFDC, HappyFriend Lau, and everyone else I played.

 

ggs to borisofwales. Ur spacing is getting better on oki offense. The toughest lion's i've played use the catch throw more, and work it into oki game. But u (IMO from my experience vs u) are getting better at using lions dances for spacing and counter attacking.

ggs happyfreind lau. nice to finally play u. Wish u would have stayed longer and accepted my friend request. Guess it's still pending. I had a real hard time reading u. I was quickly realizing i needed to quit trying to guess ur moves and defend out of situations. Anyhow, ur lau was really cool, and i can't wait to see how strong he gets. I'm hoping u'll be another elite player and then hopefully i can get regular games against u.
