I cant afford it. Too many bills and my job doesnt pay enough

 

You JUST started playing again, dude. Can't really expect to get a year or two worth of experience and improvement in two months. Thats like saying, "well, i'm so good I can bypass all the learning everyone else had to do."

I'm pretty sure you can beat all the people that have been playing as long as you, right? So I dont see what the problem is.

 

I started playing a few months ago again if that is what you mean by "just started playing again" I didnt play that long the first time around. I wasnt exactly that good to begin with when i started. I struggled back then just like I am now. I even switched characters from Akira to jacky back then. I dont even have to go into why I quit playing the game(it had nothing to do with me playing this game or how good I was at it, all personal reasons) You act like you have never gotten frustrated at playing this game before when I KNOW that isnt true at all =\.

In no way did I say or even imply that I should be able to skip all the playing that others have done. Ive seen people vocalize their frustrations about playing this game on these boards just as much as I have. Apperently its an unspoken rule. Ill just keep my comments to myself from now on.

 

I get frustrated plenty like everyone else but when I lose, instead of saying "i'm not getting any better" I try to think logically about the situation. Most likely i'm losing to something I don't understand or I dont have enough experience with yet. If thats the case, I try to work on the problems and improve my game.

There is SO MUCH to learn in this game. Like for example, do you know all the guaranteed damage situations, all the nitaku and all the +3 - +6 situations and do you have a few options for each situation? Even when you know all that stuff there are the exceptions like akira 3p+k, wolfs 6k+g, jeffs double hammer etc. Do you know all those? Until you do, you can't really complain about not getting better because you still don't fully understand the game.

we'll I didn't say don't express your frustration I'm just implying all of us have learning to do and saying something like "I'm not getting better" simply isnt true.

 

Instead of debating and losing Ill just shut up and go practice again. No point arguing when I dont understand the game...

 

I doubt there is anyone on this website that knows what all their options are in every situation. I certainly dont but im trying to get better, just like you.

 

It would be great if i could make it to socal but i cannot afford it. So online is really all i got left. Ill keep at it...

 

chibi. you sound like a complete failure. you're givin up way too easy. and what exactly have you done besides play online? don't mean to sound hard, but look at u. it takes a lot of studying, playing, and traveling to get good in this game. you can't just play online and expect to imrove. you have to embrace everything...from frame data to the VF community. when you combine all those together, you gain experience. in the end, when everything is said and done, it all boils down to knowing your matchups vs each individual character.

play for a few years, then start talkin like this. but don't say shit like, "i dunno what else to do to improve" when you havent even played that long. ya dig?

You havent even played me dude =\. Everytime I invite you nothing happens, Or you send me a message saying your either playing someone else or WCG or whatever. Thats fine and all but...

Asside from that, I dont take offense to anything you have said. If anything it was needed. I dont have time to travel, I dont have the money to travel so online is really all I have. I would love to go up to NY and play with those guys, I would love to go to every single fucking tournament that comes up for VF. That requres 2 things. Time and money, I could make sometime but money is a huge issue with me(As it is with many people I understand but my situation is not the same as everyone else. Not saying mine is better or worse. Just saying in general)

I would LOVE to go to SoCal, No way im going to make it with my work schedule and everything else i have to take care of currently. Real life >> Traveling for VF(I know this is general knowledge) Online for right now is all I have, SOrry i dont have the luxury of offline gameplay so what do i do? I play online, Yet another luxury, Its better than nothing.

No where did i say i was giving up in ANYWAY SHAPE OR FORM! So if you can tell me where i said that I would love to know. I said i was frustrated with the game. I didnt say i was going to quit, I didnt say anything of that sort so before you put words in my mouth at least read what I said properly. Again, Im not trying to be offensive toward you. Just stating my part like you did yours. I didnt even quit the first time around, I had alot of personal issues I had to take care of such as living arrangements. So Dont even think of saying i quit the first time. Wasnt even the case, Personal shit takes precedence.

I've been at this game for years, and I still suck. but I never let my (self imposed) skill level become
a burden as it just stops me enjoying the game.

There will be a time when you feel you've hit 'the wall' (i feel I'm there now) but eventually you'll overcome it and enjoy applying the new elements that you had to overcome into your game.

I'm not suggesting this is your situation or anything, but it sounds similar to how I'm feeling about my own level of play atm.

And if any part of this didn't make sense, or is totally irrelevant its because I'm half asleep..

 

I've Hit the "Wall" before so i can understand but stomping your fellow VFDC'er is not cool at all.


Chibi hit the Dojo with who ever his giving you fits and check all the safe moves and commom throw directions and Get on it.

Btw, how do you think our connection this time?? I think it was better than 2 bars but I couldn't really judge it by myself.
If you compare the connection with NYC crew, how worse do I have??

GG's to KimanariOyaji... fun games man. For some reason our connection wasn't up to par yesterday. Normally it's pretty damn good... lag definitely stripped you of some well deserved win because things like /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif would hit after getting /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif throws. Well Socal is almost here, so I'm sure I won't be so lucky next time.

AyaSempai, dude sorry about earlier and don't give up. You just have to be patient, I mean there was alot of holes in your game, particularly in your defensive area that you could improve on. For example after you techroll you either evade or pk, and maybe its lag messing your etteg up but, I threw you way too many times. You should get those etteg down more consistently. My suggestion is to mix it up more when you are at disadvantage, these are options you should look into mixing:

- Duck
- attack
- etteg
- Fuzzy
- evade cancel
- etc

Your offence is pretty good though. And I can see you lack kage experience as well. So alot of things you can work on if you still have the motivation. Best medication for you is to have local competition so that they could motivate you and push you to become better, playing online won't help you, at times it can make you play even worse by giving you unnecessary bad habits. But I can sympathize if you don't have any local competition.

Flash, I think there's something wrong with your router coz I could play with Konjou and Denkai no problem. That happened to me but mostly not my problem. The worst thing was we couldn't even join a party together....
